It is 750 VA, 400 Watts. I just tried unhooked my montor from it and it went to 60% but it is still doing it. If I went to the forceware version that nvidia has on their main site would that mess up anything I have did under your walkthrough? Think mabye it could be the forceware drivers? I heard they are hacked? the 71.81?

You will need to reset your UPS. If you still get a load error the UPS is overated and you should get a 650Watt system instead anyway. Unplug your UPS and connect directly to the outlet.

As I mentioned to you before, your computer is in a much better state than before, do not think that it's not. You have set a baseline to optimal system performance, this is one of the first steps to fixing your issue.
With others though it cleared their issues.

I would try the 71.81, you have nothing to lose..

Mike

I am using the 71.81 now. I heard it was a hacked version so I thought mabye that could be what is causing my CoH problems? And mabye if I went back to the version on the main Nvidia website it would fix it since CoH is listed as supported on the nvidia website. If I do change forceware version though will it mess up the optimazition I did using your walkthrough?

No. You can load the optimized settings in Ntune if you followed my post. You will default to your original settings after a reboot unless you set the optimized files to load in the Ntune profile manager upon booting or you manually click on the test1 files in both Ntune graphics performance (first) and the control panel (second) or whatever name you gave it. I would go back and set the video cards GPU and Memory Cores to the same settings as before. You will need to reinstall Coolbits.

Go back to 66.93

Unplug your UPS and connect directly to the outlet.

Yes it does do that, two cards and your monitor drivers. Please re-read my previous post.

What? Yellow exclamation marks? As in drivers not installed?

If this is the case reinstall and make sure that you let it load the drivers automatically for this time, by accepting the default windows install of the drivers.

You are giving up to easy! You will be back to a state that is worse than now.

Next time, if the second install does not provide a clean Device Manager (no exlamation marks)
Choose the driver for your card in the driver install window. It will be in C:\NVIDIA\Win2KXP\66.93\------nv4_disp.inf and let the driver for the plug and play monitor default.

I know what you did, when you uninstalled the drivers you took out too much with your driver cleaner software or windows add remove (taking all NVidia drivers out instead of just the display ones). You will need to put your mobo cd in and reinstall the additional drivers in device manager, the ones with the exlamation marks, and update. At this point there should be no exlamation marks, and your card drivers should be ok, if your card drivers now have an exlamation after updating your lost mobo drivers, do what I said above.

Hi and thankyou very much for the very detailed A8N-SLI FAQ.

Sorry for the newb question but I recently purchased this motherboard. I have come to realise now that there is a DELUXE version of this Motherboard.

In regards to your very detailed Asus A8N-SLI FAQ-Configuration post could you please tell me if it only applies to the A8N-SLI DELUXE or A8N-SLI standard motherboard. I have downloaded all the new bios updates but have come to realise that they might only appply to the Deluxe motherboard?

Regards John and thanks in advance for any replies.

Sorry for not explaining myself better but I meant to say that I have downloaded the latest A8N-SLI Deluxe BIOS as that is where Sanders link takes me. Can I use the Deluxe version Bios for the standard motherboard ???

Try using the ASUS BIOS update software, it will probably let you know if you can or not by stating it's incompatible. I do believe you can search for the BIOS file on your computer with this software and install it from there. I don't have the software installed, so I'm not sure.

Just a suggestion!

Mike

Just installed the software, it does do what I mentioned above, this should work for you.

Mike does that bios update software allow you to update your MB bios easily? I am not sure I know how to update it when a new version comes out and would like a easy way. Or am i just gonna have to unhook everything from my MB and flash it with a floppy everytime because that seems like alot of work

Edit:Also I am using version 1003, should I update to the beta 1004 or wait for real release?

This software will work nicely for you, just pay attention to what's going on and you will be met with success. The option to load the BIOS file is in the drop Down menu. Use the BIOS that Sander supplied, or try the 1004.001, this is what I'm using.

I just reformatted my system, all I have on it now is windows and the drivers that are on the FAQ. Havent did anything else. No OCing no anything. I tried City of Heroes again and I still got the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error, abnormal program termination. It says that City of Heroes is supported game on Nvidia website so why is it doing this? Anyone know what could be causing it? This is driving me crazy.

The first mistake you made was give up on our previous run.
The second one was to reinstall Ghost.

I spent quite a few hours with you to resolve your issue and we would have, I am quite disconsolate about this.

As I said in a private message to you
Rome was not built in a day!

I am done for today and for quite awhile, to not have seen this through with me after all the time I spent with you is an insult to my intellegence.

I didn't get $5,000 in equipment and receive just about every error you can get in SLI to give up. I plugged in and fixed them all, without RMA'ing one product.. It took time, there are many variables, I hope that the next guy will help you out.
