What is your system? are you trying to run recovery disks for a laptop? or are you running a windoes XP installation disk?

finally fixed altought i removed everything :~. (just removed xp and installed it again)

it is working very good everthing is up to date!
my first installed game was il-2 1946 because i have a 4mx graphics card, it is not that fast.
i am workking hard for money 8) because after seven long years of using it is time to buy something faster (i think alienware). it works perfect, wat could i do with it? i mean are there any people that want to buy it? it is old but works good. is there some kind of market for those old computers? for what kind of price could i sell it? (if i could sell it ;) ) if i can't ask more then 100 dollars for it than i will think about giving it to a friend. so what should you do with it? i don't take it apart for the parts because the are all old and i think i couldn't sell the graphics card.

bye thanks for helping me :D wish me luck with me new alienware. (IF.... i could earn enough money :/ .

I see this thread's been going since 2005!
Having just done battle with similar issues to the above, all I can say is:
CHECK THE HARDWARE FIRST!
I cleaned out the case, checked and the fans, reseated memory cards &c.
When I got to the video card I noticed one of the capacitors was bloated and when I replaced it, XP ran smoothly again.
The lesson is: a methodical scrutiny of the hardware before you start fooling with the software!
Best wishes,
Martin

There is an easy way to handle your problem; maybe you can try the software "tuneup360". My friends and I all use it, which can help you fix all the problems you may encounter.
