Dual CPU SLI mobo is this possible? Since they already have DUAL video card and DUAL CPUs why not have a board with both? This would blow the doors off any solution MOBO on the planet. Imagine Dual Nvidia Ultras , Dual Xeons or AMD Opertons, Dual Raptors on Raid. Does anybody know if this will be possible in the future? Or is in the works, or did I just think of it first?

When you look at it in the future that is what we probally have I remember when if you had a 1Ghz CPU you were a god among men with your blinding fast CPU.

Mulitiple CPU's is for Servers. Dont worry Dual Core CPU's are comming.

And after that get ready for Quad Core Technology followed by Eight-Core Technology. And then there will be Hundereds of Core technology (Yea Hundered Core's on single CPU....Sweet ;) )

In my opinion SLI will get extinct in near future, but technology like AMR from ATI will rule. Or it will switch back to Single Card again. Or may be to Dual Core GPU's like Gigabyte's 3D1, then followed by Quad Core and above. ;)

Hey, this is my second setup with dual cpus. My old system was dual Celeron 466's on the classic Abit BP6 board. I dont run a server, I run a very dependable and reliable computer. I would label it as a workstation if anything. After running a dual cpu computer I wouldnt go back to a single cpu. I know I will get the remarks that software wont utilize the second cpu unless it was written to do so. Well Winxp Pro was designed to do so, as was Windows 2000 and they both utilize the cpus well.

Well I found it! A motherboard for dual processor with SLI tech. It uses Opteron cpu's. Look on Tyan's web site and you'll see it! Or here is the link:

Nice looking board. I like the way they put the power connectors in the middle. Also if you are getting this, make sure you have the EPS 12v psu cause you will have 3 connectors on this board. 2 in the middle and one on the side facing the front of the case. Also you need to have the case that this can fit into.....lol. My case is huge and it just fit the motherboard...I love it though.

When I did a qick search to get the price range I cam across this site selling it.

Just look how they spelled dual.

"Mulitiple CPU's is for Servers"

ofcourse NOT! ... we use multiple CPU pc's to conduct simulations in some departments....

A socket 939 motherboard with SLI support can already to that, when AMD releases the FX61 dual core cpu.

Lol...I have that 3D1 card...doesnt perform that much faster than a single card at stock

Varun, not literally saying that Multiple CPU's is for Servers. Sure can be used even to use "MS-WORD" . Most prolly Multiple CPU's used for Servers...thats why i said "Servers" there ;)

Maestro, 3D1 by gigabyte isn't kinda pure Dual Core., becoz its not in "ONE" chip, but still uses same PCB, so its "Kinda" Dual Core ;). Wait for Pure Dual Core GPU's (Like Dual Core CPU's are comming out) to come and then we shall see the difference.

LoL...I guess you're right. But it was still quite a bargain...a mobo and gfx card for 779 dollars(AU)...The mobo by itself is over 250...And the card arguably performs better than the 6800U...in benchmarks and at stock, anyway. The only problem with it is it's abominable sound and the fact that its not very overclockable...

hehe, some people probably beleive that creative sound cards can actually handle 24bit/96khz (let alone 192) properly.
