where be the competition??.... BFG will flush any other brand down the toilet. Its your choice really.... But I'd pusuade you to go for a BFG if u can cause they come with lifetime warrantys and are THE BEST.
Else if ur like me and have a tight budget... MSI all the way.

both are total crap. its fact they use some of the cheapest parts on the market. If you want a well made card gigabyte, MSI ,PNY is your choice.

MSI makes PNY.

gigabyte stands king for stable overclocking

the Indian market is stuffed with XFX'x.. they dont look too good. When I say that I dont mean the card is problematic... its not... like the prev poster said. BUT when u come across another brand,u can see the perfomance lag of an XFX.

i don't have the cash flow or the experience to do much comparison, but here's my experience:

i bought a used BFG 5900 ultra. with some help from mothow and supreet (a link and some encouragement), i flashed it with the bios from a 5950. i've also done the coolbits reg hack and oced it to 500/1000. it crashed twice on me, so i laid a fan directly on top of it, blowing right on the heat sink. other than that it's been a great card, runs halo fine, runs the doom 3, hl2, and far cry demos at acceptable rates.

i think it comes down to two things: price and customer service. i usually go for price as i am a college student and pretty broke. these companies all have to meet some minimum of quality or else they would go out of business.s**t happens, in any case. the question is, do you want to deal with them when something does go wrong?

whether u should take XFX or BFG depends where u live. here in australia the only XFX stock is fx5200's and i have NEVER seen a single BFG card. in any case, i dont see the point in buying a pre- overclocked card, with or without lifetime warranty. unless they will refund the card when its outdated. which wont hapen :(

my vote goes to MSI, leadtek or albatron for 6600GT. the overclock well and ive had albatron and MSI cards and never had the need to call upon a warranty.

what u missed is the fact that by pre-overclocking, the company has placed its faith in the card as one that can perform beyond its intended frequencies for an indefinite/looong (:D) period of time.
So when u get a BFG, u have the confidence of owning the absolute best. A card becoming outdated is not the companys problem... any electronic gadget u buy today will get outdated in a couple of years. But if u seek hard core no-nonsense perfomance.. then you have to pay the price... and buy the best.

Well both BFG and XFX are very good brands, but BFG Cards are pre-overclocked, hence are slightly faster than other counter parts.

Leadtek is pretty good too.

Gents, Maximum PC gave the XFX Geforce 6800GT the Kick Ass award ( 9/10 ) . Damn near as fast as a 6800 Ultra but for $350. I have my eye on it. Stay away from the low end FX cards. I had one. SUCK ASS!!!

here in utah the xfx and BFG are only caried by Best Buy and considered cheap of the cheap. Only people who buy them dont know better or just dont have any other options.

Hi mate I would go to some of the 3D benchmark forum's and find out for yourself which set ups are better for the cards your choosing between if you can find benchmark results with your set up and hitting hi scores then your winning.! remeber some people look for overclocking ability which is not necessarily right for every body.!
The best advice is your own after a bit of research.!

There is no way BFG or XFX are cheap.XFX is one off nivida's premier(as is evga and i beleive BFG) vendors and get's top pick of the best cores.Evga /BFG /XFX are the 3 best out there.Gigabyte''s video card are always the slowest of the bunch when ever reviewed by any forum.( and there mobo's are the worst overclockers of the bunch usally)Not that they are bad just need to be tweaked abit over there stock setting and better cooling.Butt as far as other's go you are paying for a name and name only(like Asus).Yeah you'll get one's that OC well But piont is they are the not the best .Gainwards GS are hand picked as stated but not from nvidias stock like xfx and evga's are. They are hand picked from there own cores that were sold to them .But now a days i think it's safe to go with any of the big name card and mobo maker's as they are all good in there own right.Hell i almost bought a Rosewill 6800nu.But evga was a bit cheaper so i went with that. Now im glad i went with evga.I just wish i had went with the GT.But i thought about it and the 6800nu just made more sense at the time.

Im glad i had a part in you flashing your card .It really woke my BFG FX5900 up when i did it.And i also had some trouble with crashing but it was a driver issue.Which i fixed pretty quick.

I agree with Mothow Gainwood and Leadtek are good cards.
I personally prefer silence which seems to be on everyones topics. A card might be very good at overclocking but some cards sound like freight trains carrying toxic waste.!
Thank God for after market cooling.!
Upgrading and compatiablity is another consideration take for instance SLi costs of two 6600 for one 6800.
Jass

Mothow I own a ASUS 6600GT I got 60,000 plus on Aquarmark usual stock is 50K-55K Didn't buy it just because of the name but performance.!

Hey whats up with all the hatred towards XFX! They are a new company and of course people are scared of what they dont know. So usually people dislike what they dont know or own. I invested a Thousand Bucks on XFX 6800 Ultras SLi Pci express cards. They never let me down or gave me any kind of problems, keep in mind they are a new company to hit the scene. The cards came with everything needed and then sum. Try them out I did and the reviews on there cards are good on must forums

Good Luck on Your Choice
