Yeah I know this is too early but I can't help it. I'm wondering what PS4 will be like. It won't be out for at least 8 years. I know PS1 and PS2 have lifespan of 6 years until new consoles comes out but PS3 is sooo powerfully to the point where it is good enough in term of graphic and gameplay and coming up with new ideas much longer than PS2 and PS1 was. I'm guessing PS4 will be out in 2015. This is what I think PS4 will have similar in power. It will have the same amount of power equal to three 4.0 GHZ cell processor, dual GPU and a total memory of 1 GB. Sound good right? Yeah I know this is a lame thread but I have nothing else to do right now except to watch some good porno and play CS. lol

I Think Sony Has Already Started To Make The Next PlayStation, Just Like They Started To Make The PS3 When PS2 Was Released. I Canít Even Think How Powerful The PS4 Will Be But That Is A Very Long Time Away. PS3 The Best

Anythony, PS3 will be out next Spring and PS4 will be out in 7-8 years or more. You idiot, consoles normally have six years in the market before the new one is out so PS4 cannot be out in 2009-2011. More like after 2013. My estimate would be 2015. And PS3 will most likely cost just under $500. Maybe $450

I think the price of the PS3 will really depend on how low XBOX prices their new system at and if they reduce the price around the release of the PS3 for the launch of Halo 3. I've heard prices varying from 300-500 for the PS3 and from what I ahve heard on the most part is that it will be on the lower end of that price range.

well...I have read the specs for the PS3 and that's amazing
it will be great to have one of these machines.
I,myself, like the Playstation 2 over the XBox and Game Cube..

and for the PS4, man that's tooooooooooooo early to think about.
after 6 years..many things will change. now, there is dual core and dual video cards
you can't expect the future in an environment that changes as fast as today's technology.

we have seen a major jump from PS1 to PS2 in terms of graphics, gameplay and games storylines,
but I don't think that PS2 was fully utilized..
I think PS2 could have been pushed to make better games.
so, I don't expect major changes in PS3..
that's my expectations...I have got to wait and see the real thing,

nice talking to you..bye

Deafguy:

I don't think it's really too early to talk about PS4. besides, PS3 was discussed soon after PS2 was revealed in 1999 and before PS2 actually came out. things are pretty much the same today: PS3 has been revealed and we're talking about PS4, lol.

seriously, the PS4 is almost certainly in development. the PS3 was in development by the summer of 1999 after PS2 had been completed. so there should be little doubt that PS4 is soon going into development if it isnt already.

PS4 will probably use some form of advanced, next-generation CELL processor, with many, many cores - more than the 8 or 9 cores that are in PS3's Cell processor. It's also being reported that Nvidia will probably work with Sony on the PS4's graphics processor:

As the company revealed during E3, it's teamed up with leading PC graphics card maker Nvidia to create a new graphics chip, called the RSX, for the PS3.

"Our new GPU has been cocreated with Nvidia. I drew a road map for the future together with [Nvidia president] Jen-Hsun, and the starting point of that road map is the RSX. Many people seem to think that the PS3's GPU is an upgraded model of GPUs for the PC, but it actually has a completely different architecture," explained Kutaragi, whose comments seemed to indicate that the two companies might work together again on the inevitable PlayStation 4.

so as you can see, even the gaming press is talking about PS4 already. I expect that PS4 will be out in 7 years. that is, 6 years after PS3 comes out. so we're talking about 2012, most likely.

For all we know the PS$ could be some crazy terahertz* monster with holographic display and some type of vr interactions, with like a could petahertz* of memory.

tera = 1024 giga
peta = 1024 tera

Look at this way, PS2 will enter 6th year of life span by the time PS3 the market. But since PS3 has much bigger leap over PS2 than PS2 was to PS1, you add 2 more year and we will see PS4 in 2014-2015.

"Keep dreaming... The day console have more than 1 gig of memory, that day is when I'll get laid"

They said similar things about the PC never needing a Gigabyte of memory. Now it just may not be enough, once Longhorn is released... (I wish you the best of luck in getting laid before then, though. lol)
