Hi,

Can anyone offer any ideas to my problem. Sometimes when I am using the keyboard letters get missed out. For instance in the he sentance before the S in sometimes did not type nd the the space between for an instance in this sentance was missing. There is no patter to the errors.

Thanks for your help

Check the batteries if its wireless.

Check the drivers if its a non-standard keyboard.

Your keyboard could be rubbish, it just started doing this, or it been doing it since you got it?

I spilled coffee on my last keyboard, so i let dry it for about 2 days, but whenever i tried to type, only vs came out. Like i would try to type my name and all I got was Vvvvv Vvvvvvvv. Im serious, you may hav something in ur keyboard, or its just f**ked up.

all I got was Vvvvv Vvvvvvvv.

that's hilarious. malkovich? malkovich malkovich? malkovich, malkovich malkovich malkovich. malkovich.

i would take the keyboard apart and give it a good cleaning out. at best, it will fix your problem, and at worst, you'll have to replace a malfunctioning keyboard.

Heres something better to hear. When that keyboard died, i bought the new one I have for only a dollar! How did this happen!? Well, in my school they were replacing comps, so they were selling comps and periphals, so i got this nice, almost brand new keyboard for a buck! In yo' faces suckas!

Oh and by the way, is the 5900 (flashed to 5950) better than the 9800pro? Just wondering tho.

I had a simalar problem.

I also asumed it was the keyboard, I tried the suspect keyboard on another computer and it was fine.

Turned out it was a blown PS2 port. :(

Easy enough to solve, I just brought a USB keyboard. But maybe some thing to look at before buying a new keyboard.

nothing like a sweet deal, eh pirate?

and normally, the 5900 (flashed to 5950) wouldn't be better than the 9800 pro. BUT...

since i have dual PSUs, i can make this baby run anything totally sweet-like (the extra volts make the pixels move faster!) doom 3 maxed out: easy. half-life 2 full aa and af: don't kid me. far cry with everything up: pffft, child's play. this thing is so badd asss i can even make my 1280 x 1024 LCD play games at 1600 x 1200! so yeah it's better. ;)

vincent, did you ever get your keyboard issue figured out?

Hey when I am typing the keyboard does not type the letter t,h,v, and c. this is very annoying and I have no idea what to do to fix it. P.S. I had to type this in Microsoft Word because the letters are typed in here but not online and the URL bar. It also didnt work in yahoo or google, but on games it did, so idk what is the deal. Please help, and thanks.

I have the same problem, after my kitten went to sleep on my laptop keyboard. When I use Microsoft Word 2000, the letters T, H, C and V are either disabled or have some unknown function now, but they definitely do not produce letters. All the other letters are fine, and I can get THCV to work in my Firefox browser and in WordPad, so it's definitely a function of Microsoft Word. This is the only place I've seen someone with a similar problem, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I've just come across the same problem with the missing keys. In fact, they are the exact missing keys as mentioned above.
I've spoken with my IT manager and he has never come across it before so can't help me but thinks it's something to do with software??? It's over my head/too technical.

Anyway, I was wondering if it could be anything to do with the keyboard I am using? I'm using a Dell keyboard. Can you confirm if you are having the same problems with the same keyboard?

Yes, it was with a Dell keyboard. I finally solved the problem with a system restore. Since then the keyboard has developed other issues - the first three columns of keys on the left no longer work, I've had to get an external keyboard. Oh Dell, your crappy components will be the death of me!

I have a toshiba laptop 3 months okld and have the same issue. I use internet explorer to open my internet. I see that in google (my homepage) that in emails i lose letter as you mention, but not in facebook or a couple of other areas.. I added windows 7 to patch it up and it didn't change anything.. seems very strange. I ma thinking about doing a completely clean install of windows 7 and getting rid of my vista al togetether.. Any comments to this idea??? Thanks

I've been experiencing this issue regularly for the last six months. It has usually worked to restart the computer, but sometimes I've had to try other methods. Usually control key sequences; i.e. alt+shift+control+something, or a variation thereof. I haven't yet determined what causes this problem on my computer or a definite solution, but I've always managed to get it back to normal.

It may be driver related, as this started happening after I installed the drivers from the CD that came with the mouse and keyboard.
I doubt this, however, since this happens for people using different keyboards from different manufacturers.

This is probably initiated by pressing some sequence of keys, and disabled the same way.
It could, of course, also be another Windows glitch. I'm having trouble when using certain programs. Mostly third party programs. The keys work in Internet Explorer, but not Opera. They work in notepad..
I also noticed the space key stopped working with VLC player (usually pauses video playback), but haven't yet checked out or noticed malfunctions with other programs..

Using a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse + Keyboard 7000 on Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have the exact same problem that certain letters just stop working. c,t,h seem to be the most common culprits for me. This will occur while I'm typing in Outlook or Word, then I'll open notepad to see if I can type that letter in notepad - that letter works in notepad. I go back into Outlook and that same letter starts working again - till the next time this happens. I'm using a laptop with a docking station. My docking station keyboard has been replaced with a brand new keyboard (and the problem still occurs). When this issue is occuring, the keypoard attached to my docking station and the keyboard on my laptop - both won't type the letter. This clearly makes it NOT THE KEYBOARD. Curiously, I have learned - hitting the windows key on the keyboard makes the key start working again. Any insight into what this issue is, would be greatly appreciated.
