If that was a joke, I can't see the humor. That is an obvious insult, and it insuates that everyone here has some sort of spelling problem. It also is a statement that puts him above us, as if to say that we are inferior. If that's what he is trying to say, then I'm going to let him have it. It looks like to me that he has insulted the entire forum, including Sander, and I'm not going to just let it fly.

It wasn't particularly bothersome but it probably wasn't the best word to use.

The bottom line now on this forum is that peeps are waiting for someone to say something just to mouth off big time. The amount of POINTLESS arguments now on this site is amazing. You would not mind if someone really insulted a person that at least would be justified. Still in between all of that there are some good posts!

No big deal, if we can't handle a few adult related words, don't say anything. As for me, it's not perfectly okay. Sander, you are just expressing an emotion that is true, the new 7800 totally kicks A$$!!

I'm certainly not offended by it because it's too commonly used to be taken seriously anymore. Should it be used if there are better words to describe it? Probably not. It is profanity and profanity shouldn't be taken lightly.

As for me, I am not offended by the use of the F-word or any other four syllables from time to time as part of an expression. But........ I do get offended or at least PO'd when a heated arguement is in progress and these very F-words and 4 syllables are then used to indirect to each other to try to degrade the other. I dont think that by degrading the other is necessary to bring across a point no matter if the point is right or wrong. We should be able to have an arguement in a more mature manner. Each member of HWA has an opinion of their own that should be respected (even if it is wrong in the receiving eyes) and a good discussion could take place in talking out the differences without degrading to name calling.

So when it comes down to it, it is in how you use the F-word or any other 4 syllables explicives. Is it an expression? Is it in a joking manner? Or is it to degrade a fellow person? It makes a difference.

Thanks Mothow. For some reason, I keep doing that. That's the second time I've done it. I guess my fingers just want to skip those letters. I was a spelling bee champ in the 8th grade, so I guess that means that I know how to spell such an easy word. Try schizophrenic on for size. Perhaps euthanasia? Maybe extraordinary? Quantification? lol These are just some of the first words that came to mind.

I think that when someone reaches levels in their life, be it professional, personal, spritual.... they take on some responsibilites. Usually the higher the levels the higher the responsibilities. Dan Rather had a responsibility to obtain at least a part of the truth. His levels were such that he was removed because of his words. Now Sander I am not putting you up there with Dan (yet). However, people who possibly have hopes to achieve higher levels such as a "Tech Editor" for a major print distribution could possibly shoot themselves in the foot with one misplaced story, quote or word.

"I Think" you could have used a little more tact and still cleverly get your point across.

That being said since I have not reached those levels, I still "Sometimes" use those words. ;-)

I have to say that the use of that word realy pushes the point well, the usage was correct, and I am not affended.

Ever think the reason I was on the site in the first place was to read about the 7800? Oh yeah that’s right I don't think like you so I am an ass. I understand now. Gee I just signed up. I loved your "f*cking" post and of course I did not found it offensive. However, I'm not surprised that you recieved hate-mails. This is a public forum, therefore, it is accessible to all kind of persons who belong to diferent cultures and who have diferent ways of seeing and reacting to things.

I personaly would never use such words on public (like on this public forum) to share information. Not because I have a problem with such words but because I know that not everyone can "handle" those. If there is several ways of doing the same thing I will choose the one which I think will cause less "damage", in this case, using other "kind" of words to express myself regarding the nVidia's 7800 graphic card...

PS: I read the hole thread and it was... quite... er... interesting...
