Just for the sake of info i started this thread.My Questions are that why AMD beats Intel with less MHz & less L2 Cache & with DDR400?
WHy Intel looses with DDR667 Higher l2 Cache & Higher Mhz?
also why Intel Performs EXELLENT at Multithreading apps & why it scuks @ single threaded apps?

Azeem, who told you Intel sucks in Single threaded applications?...its equally good. AMD & Intel both have their each pros & cons, and have "ENTIRELY" different Architecture.

AMD Rulez all. There was a time where intel was awesome, but no more.. AMD U RULE

Intel also have dual cores.

Basically there are 2 schools of thought for making a processor do more work.

Increase clock speed
Get more done per clock

Now, from those two, I'm sure you can guess which company took which approach!!

The increased base clock speed is why Intel chips run so hot. And more instructions performed per clock is why AMD processors perform so well in games. Also, on board memory controller with tight timings means the latency between asking for data, receiving it, performing operations on it and outputting the result is performed a lot quicker on an AMD than an Intel.

HyperThreading is why Intel performs so well at multi tasking and multi-threaded apps. It creates a 'virtual processor' fooling the software into thiking its a dual core processor, therefore acting on to threads of info at the same time.

Intel also uses faster ram, and while this offers great bandwidth, the timings have to be so loose that it will not perform well on games and apps that require quicker response times.

AMD leads over Intel in games, but that doesn't mean Intel sucks in gaming or Single threaded applications..both chips are great...I dont know may be my next upgrade would be an Intel chip?

Lol, I am also 101% satisfied with my P4 3Ghz and Geforce 5200 (or something like that). But then again I don't play alot of games. The ones I play on my PC are mostly older and/or flash games. The longest journey, Grim Fandango, etc...
I play most my games on my Xbox cuz I don't have enough money to keep upgrading my PC... Plus my TV is bigger than my computer-screen.
