Hello,

Have you tried hitting the reset button on the bottom of the laptop (in pinhole)?

Ok I think I found the problem. The ribbon cable coming from the power button to the motherboard seems to have broke in a crease that was there from factory the question is now where to find that cable and what the part number is here is what is on the cable in green letters. E66085 Awm 20798 80C 60V VW-1 bando -s -f- HF E6. It is not all the way broke but I could see where a crack where half of it would not make full conact. I have seen others with same part number E66085 or looking for same part.

Ok I called Impact http://www.impactcomputers.com/sony-internal-parts-and-assembl...ables.html
to see which cable it might be because there is no E66085 so he said he had to look it up by model I gave him the model PCG-GRV670 he says that laptop not even in there system so he cannot help me. Anyone else have any idea's?

You are the victim of a well known memory slot problem with Sony Vaio laptops. All you need is to resloder memory slots to the motherboard. If you want to fix it - send me a private message.

Ok got new wire in replaced broken wire and still nothing expect the Power light and the #1 and #2 battery light Which is green light and 2 yellow lights. 4th light which is hard drive is not on.

I just feel like it is something different than memory slots we have never messed with them.

you may have fixed this by now, but I have a pcg-grv680 and my screen would not display anything, but the lights turned on. I simply removed one of my memory cards, and it magically worked. Don't ask me why. I have tried several memory cards in that slot and they do not work. It is obviously a problem with the slot. You might want to try removing the memory in the second slot.
