Asus sucks! I have had it with their garbage, no bandwidth website that downloads faulty, buggy BIOS'es and screwed up utilities for motherboards that are fundamentally flawed. I am done with their products. DFI here I come.

yup, that board is screwed up. But why did u buy that particular board... theres a record breaking sticky on this website about how crap up that board is.

I know how big that thread is since I have posted there about 200 times to help others. LOL In the A8N 's defense, most of the problems on that thread have little or nothing to do with the board itself. Here is my latest post on that thread and the source of my ANGER!!!

BIOS 1014 would not let me overclock my CPU to a levl and numbers I have been running stably for weeks. Just hung at the boot window. Hitting DEL wouldn't even get me into settings. Had to reset the CMOS via battery and jumper to get back into BIOS and and then reflashed back to 1013, by floppy, to get my system back where I could reset my conservative, tried and true 10% overclock. Thanks for another crappy BIOS Asus.

Oh yeah their website, after "huge changes for better service to our valued customers", still SUCKS worse than any other manufacturer's site that I have ever used. It is in a constant overload, failure,out of bandwidth mode. Absolute crap all the way. This is a "high tech" company that can't run a freakin' website. Unbelievable.


Bottom-line, stick with 1013 unless you need to move up due to X2 issues.

I have been telling most people to stay away from these boards, and ive been telling many people to get one of the MSI SLI boards, and more advanced users to get a DFI sli board.

I'm glad I didn't buy an ASUS either. I'll be stickin' with Gigabyte boards for now on.

Besides, the blue color of the board looks great with the 4 blue led fans in by case.

I suppose ASUS is done as top dawg for now. Just like ATI, they've fallen down the food-chain of technology.

Has Gigabytes always been reliable?

Didn't a lot of people have to RMA the DFI Lan Parties?

Asus used to make really good boards I dont know what happened to them, and yes DFI boards are not that hot either for the price of them. Sure they over clock well but are not stable. So whats the point.

MSI & Gigabyte in that order!

I've always used MSI boards myself. I'm thinking about an ABIT now. Anyone have opinions on them?

Err... I am not that fond of them myself, but I find that they are supremely good at stock speeds. I find myself with three of them. They are not the best overclockers, but they are not buggy at stock speeds and there is limited need for fiddling. The DFI is an animal, but it requires the midas touch and supreme tweaking for it to work its magic.

MSI Motherboards works very well for me.

Ive used DFi boards, then MSI boards, and Gigabyte board, Asus board. They all were pretty good from my point of view. They were of a later brand boards but had no problems what so ever in the long run. DFI is the best

and i realy like it, what the hell is so crappy about asus?

The A8n SLI Deluxe was the first board id used from Asus. When
i got it i had a few problems which were easy fixed. Then the chipset
fan died, however i still thought the board was good untill i tried to overclock
with it. Then i found out how poor it was at this.

Im now using a MSI, will i go with Asus again. No not unless there
board can really change my mind. Will i recommend this board to someone
that doesnt overclock. Yes definatly.

It makes no difference whether ASUS has a well rated product or not. They have the absolute worst support for anything and everything. If you want to deal with a company like this go ahead, but be warned, they are pathetic. Their website is slow, clunky and very user unfriendly. Their support people are uniformed, rude and treat all end user as if they don't have a clue. I used to recommend Asus products but no more, I'm done with them and there NO support, support system. I've been in the IT field for 15 years and I know what I'm talking about, save yourself a lot of grief and find a quality product from a company that actually supports their customers.

I thought Asus sucked until I bought it, this motherboard is my favorite so far. f**k are you talkin' about.
