Im running xp pro And like the post said, some things just wont clear off my ie address bar.
Under "internet options" i click "clear history""delete cookies""delete files".
I also run "disk cleanup" and check all the options to clean up.

I can erase things like different posts that ive clicked on in this forum. But things that remain on are.

When ever i use the address bar to search it says "invalid syntax error".
Where as i used to beable to search from the address bar. In "internet options i have "empty temporary internet folders after browser is closed" checked. I have "do not search from the address bar" un checked.

I have ran adaware 6 spybot, and rag cleaner trying to fix this problem. I had reacently installed a wallpaper program that they required so i could use the sites wallpaper. But have uninstalled it and the weather bar it posted. But i noticed the problem the day after i installed that program.

So if i have to reinstall ie how do i go about doing that? Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I found that if i click on the "history" link on the top of internet explorer. I can click on "search" type in part of the name and they show them there, but even though i tell it to delete, it wont, it just stays there.

Isn't coolbuddy a common spyware program? Even spybot will pick it up I believe. Try running ad-aware and spybot.

After you run adaware & spybot. Do a full virus scan, use AVG, I find it very good. That combination should clear all spyware/adware/trojans etc.

If its a case that ie (i presume thats what you're using) has been damaged. It might be an idea to uninstall it, and reinstall it. Download the latest version. Also, get ALL of the security updates from Windows update that are available, if you havent done so already.

BTW, what _needed_ a wallpaper program to be installed??? Sounds curious to me
