In my case, the apartment office is always willing to accept packages for tenants that aren't able to get to the door (within the 0.43 seconds apparently allotted by delivery people)

Yet, some services (cough-edEx) don't use that option.

No, the car doors are almost always shut. They just open the traditional door and set it down inside the garage. Sometimes they walk the extra six feet or so and rest it against the house door. I've seen about a dozen different UPS guys and only one Fed Ex guy. All of them place them in the garage.

If I remember what I forgot, I have not forgotten it.
