The Dell website is completely unhelpful regarding upgrading a celeron 366 to a pIII 750. All they say regarding any upgrade is that they cannot guarantee it will work. As I have the processor already I would like to know if I can actually do this.

Can I do any serious damage trying??

Any help would be great, especially from someone who has done it.

I suggest you check your manual or look inside your PC and check on the motherboard for the northbridge chip (look at a mobo review to get an idea of where it's usually positioned). Presuming it's not covered by a heatsink, or it's detailed in your manual, read off the make and model number and find either a chipset review, the manufacturer's spec pages or an equivalent motherboard review to see what they suggest it's compatible with. I'm afraid I'm not at all familiar with your system or it's potential components, so I can't actually tell you myself whether it'll work or not.
