Ok, I have a problem...my other comp (specs in profile) is somewhat maintained by school...If I have a problem with some of the hardware/software, then I take it downstairs and they give me a new part...But...this time I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my HDD and took it down and they repaired it, cuz I didn't have the resources/programs.
Anywho, I still have all my files and such, but I had reformatted my HDD awhile ago and was not joined on school's domain B/C, well...it sucks...and I don't need the Domain because I can connect it to my DFI board an d use the internet....

Short and sweet..how do I remove the domain BS from my comp? Thanks

BrinNutz,

On desktop.... right click on My Computer - go to Computer Name tab - click on change - enter in a computer name that you want your computer to be and then choose Work Group option at the bottom - then click OK. You should be all set.

You are very welcome.... By the way... if you ever need to get that computer on the domain network at school or wherever... IT will have to get it reregister in the network again.

"IT" will need to remove it too; you have to have domain rights to remove a machine from said domain.

When you add it to the local workgroup, and click ok, it's going to prompt for account details of a user who has permissions to remove the machine from the domain.

Ok, So I have my other machine routed through my DFI system, now I was wondering why, when I have say, a CounterStrike:Source Dedicated Server running, no one can see it, nor can they connect to it. I was wondering if there was a reason for this..thanks
