Problem:

A client cannot use the send feature in MS Word 95.....when clicking on send from the file menu it says "mail is not installed." It does not launch Outlook Express. They are using 2000 Pro.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, 2 solutions:

1. Stop using MS Word 95 (you'd be better off w/ OpenOffice)
2. Stop using word to send e-mails....

Thanks but that is not an answer.

He had no problem when running 98SE but now it does not work for 2000 Pro. Why?

Test,

Sounds like Windows 2000 is looking for the likes of Outlook 97 or Outlook 2000 (full applications from Office suites) Ensure that Outlook Experss is the default mail client on this machine.

Right click on internet explorer icon on desktop/properties or in a browser window go to tools/internet options and look out for a programs tab - get in here and ensure that Outlook Express and not outlook is the default mail manager/client.

You may find a similar setting within the Outlook Express apllication too.

Launch IE and go to Tools, Internet Options. Click on the Programs tab. Check to see if E-Mail is set to Microsoft Office Outlook.
