Hello. Im having some issues with this freezing problem. Whenever i leave the computer idle to download or something, I come back and its frozen. I play game etc.. and it doesn't freeze. Im not sure why this is happening? Could it be because my pc is heating up to much or because i have not enough ram?
My specs are decent.

I once had a similiar problem tht I corrected ny making sure that the harddrive wasn't set to shut off after about 20 minutes. Try that, it's under power consumption. I set mine to never shut down or go idle for the h.d. and display. Post back.

No that definitly isn't the problem. Thanks for trying though. Anyone else have anything they suggest?

I've had this problem on 2 different notebooks. Apparently, some notebook don't implement the power management standards very well. Downlevel power management drivers can also contribute to freeze-ups.

I ended up turning off all my power managment on those 2 computers. No sleeping, no hibernation, no disk drive spin-downs, no screen blanking, etc. Problem disappeared.

edited to include:
A friend had a computer that froze-up if he used the screen-saver option. As long as he didn't use it, no problem. I recall he specifically mentioned a freeze-up during a long download in which the screen-saver had started. I don't know if he ever fixed it by downloading new drivers or by some other method.
