I didn’t do it. I tried to increase my ram memory on my Compaq Presario. I inserted the card. And powered up my unit. Nothing happened. The PC was dead. Only the keyboard blinked slowly but no “beep” of any kind. So I rebooted the computer again and nothing happened. I removed the cover, then removed the card I had inserted previously and power up again. Nothing. My computer does not respond. Power goes in but hard drive does not should like is processing anything..
What to do? It was working fine “before” I played Tech with the memory card.. Help??

Was the RAM matched? Same brand, size, etc.? What OS are you running? What's the computer model? What's your shoe size?

We need to know much more than that if we're to fix it. :-)

I have another issue with another PC. It all was fine in the realom of milk and honey when my PC slowed to a crawl.. I started "cleaning" (read killing) useless files when suddenly I could no longer access my PC.
I rebooted 'till kingdom come and worked on a solution for 3 months.and nothing. So I re INSTALLED the OS that came with it.
At the DOS prompt My only choice at setup was to reformat my HARD DRIVE !! can you believe that S....
All broken harted "agreed" under duress to kill my files ( that I loved like my children by the way )
and proceeded to set up my OS. All was "looking OK" when suddenly Ohh horror.. NO AUDIO!!
I have worked on restoring the audio to my PC because the stupid new setup "removed" my
Audio Device Driver or its hidden in such a way that the miracle of the 21 century (read computers)
CAN NOT SEE THE STUPID SOUND CARD IN THE MOTHERBOARD.
How we will ever progress when silly things like this one conspire against us this way? every day....
so I remove the PC cover and looked for the stupid sound card.......... there is none!
I don't even hear the system sound... (scary)
By now I'm tired tf typing (look at the time !!!! )
MY CHARMING GIRL is:
Dell XPS 400 (pos)
OS is Windows XP professional (what ever the heck that means)
I bought it from manufacturer in 12-25-2006 (I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE to say to describe her)
PLEASE if anyone finds my brains.. return them to me at.... (my e-mail address or post it here)
H E L P !
And I HOPE IT DOESN'T TAKE YOU GURUS ANOTHER YEAR for a reply !!!
