I also have an MX420, the stock fan on it broke, but the heatsink is still on there. So I took out the fan, and took a 60mm fan from my old Pentium II 350MHz (I know, ancient technology) cooler, and used some steel wire to mount the fan on the heatsink, it works pretty well.

I can't wait to see how it overclocks. Maybe you can OC it to FX5200 speeds. That would be sweet :)

Hey Sean... there is probably a button on your camera that says macro or shows a picture of a flower. Try pressing that before taking pictures of close-up things.

That kinda looks like the mod I did to a 9250 that would artifact at stock speeds under mild stress.

But, I couldn't get the stock heatsink off, so I just used the residule thermal paste from the PI heatsink (they put like a full oz. on, I swear) and gooped them together. Then I held it on with a pair of rubber bands ;).

Good times.

I have a SiS 2MB AGP2x card laying around with no cooling solution at all, no heatsink and no fan and it still works like new but has really crappy performance.

I got a Nvidia Geforce 4 MX420 64MB, that the passive heatsink fell off of and thats laying around somewhere, and this card would artifact (the stock cooler use to be intact when I used it) any time I played games, ever since I got it in an old dell.

And I got a Viper V770 Ultra TNT2 Ultra 32MB AGP 2x card laying around, that likes to cause BSODs in Windows, and doesn't even let Kubuntu load up.

And then I got my BFG Geforce 6800 which in the past 3 days has liked to artifact after an hour of BF2, and even caused a BSOD the other day because of an infinite loop.

All this makes me want to go out and buy an ATI videocard, considering I have 3 Nvidia cards that all have problems.

ATI cards seem to hold up to time better for me... but the drivers are terrible.

I have an ATI all in wonder RAGE pro (or something like that) with no heatsinks. Also have a TNT 2 sitting somewhere... what else... oh, something with 3 different GPU cores on it (and no heatsinks. Never did find the make:()
