pretty good i suppose... more into designing my own s**t and using Style XP (latest works with x64)... my start button is a picture of my cat.. windows is black ,silver, dark blue and dark yellow .. matches my case

Heh. A cat button. :D

I wish that WindowBlinds and StyleXP were just stylemaking programs. They shouldn't have to run in the background to make the styles work, you only need to have a style in the "C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes" folder to be able to select it through the Appearance tab in Display Properties. They take away memory when it isn't needed.

And while I'm thinking of that, I really think it'd be nice if you could hide system tray icons of your choice. There are some programs I want running without a systray icon. :/

well if you install style XP and change the theme.. then un-install style xp.. the theme (and all previous) will remain in display properties under themes.. just the start bar wont look the same (classic look). desktop icons, wallpaper will still be exact... and on a side note windowsblinds doesn't work with x64.. tried it :(

and if you right click on your system tray then click customize in the notification area, you can select what icons you want shown and dont. (hide when inactive, always hide, always show)

That's not too bad. The extra bar is just the StumbleUpon bar. I think the main reason it looks cluttered is that all of my bookmarks are favicons, no text. Personally, I prefer it that way. I have no problem with my Firefox. :)

Really? What'd you find incomplete about it?

Well for one, I use the classic start menu, and when I open it up, it's white. When I use the default start menu and open it up, it's black. This tells me that there are some things missing. It's nothing big, but incomplete nonetheless. In any case, it's still really nice.

Edit: Unless if it's supposed to be that way of course. I honestly don't know.

Second Edit: Ok, nevermind, I was wrong. It's supposed to be like that. I didn't realize that Windows uses different colour tones depending on whether you've chosen the classic or default start menu.

And, just like a cat, you can't make it do anything it doesn't want to do.

here look here at my desktop.. i switched to the noir theme to show you.. and opened a couple apps so you can get a picture of what windows does with colours..
http://www.ptverhey.piczo.com

just go to display properties>appearence>advanced>select menu> then change white to black and black to grey.. dont use white or any active window's menu bars will be impossible to see (file, edit, view tools, help.. etc)
.. i changed the font too.. african 10pt. looks alright..
.. and i changed application backround colour too.. to black.. check out adobe.. it's got a black backround... SEXY!

Wow, thanks a lot! I appreciate you going through all of that trouble for me. It's just that I've been using the Luna theme for so long, that I didn't realize how Windows variates between the different colours and such. I'll give it and shot. Thanks again.

There's a new theme out that's very similar to Royal Noir, it's called "Zune." Basically the only difference is the start button, which actually fits into the rest of the theme this time. :D

Nah, it's too white in My Computer - I like the Dark Grey sides in Noir.

Cool. Where'd you find that? I looked on the Microsoft website and didn't see it.

http://www.zune.net/en-us/meetzune/software.htm

Zune is quite a bit different from the Royal Noir theme:
1. Smaller text, different font in title bars
2. Less black, more of a brownish color
3. Orange start button.
4. Orange loading bar (like when your loading a webpage in IE and Firefox)
5. Selected menu was orange, in Zune theme its grey
6. Unselected window's title bars look better

My guess is that "Royal Noir" is "Zune Theme Beta 0.1"
