Phil,

You have a much higher overclock than I could managed when I ran a FX62 :) Plus I was on high end water cooling as well :)

I was just about to say that. How did you manage such an OC?

1st off, you need amd to give you several replacement chips after you cook the first few.

2nd. dont be affraid to let it heat up. (refer to previous) besides, it's got a cold bug, coldest i've had one run was -21c, with average -15c

3rd. VOLTS!

4th. understand how heat works.. for example.. if you do this: http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?p=1805067#post1805067 then you have no idea what you're doing :~

5th. MOTHERBOARD MOTHERBOARD MOTHERBOARD, your board is side ways, therefore your chip is sideways... but heat rises.. unless you're some sort of magic freak.. your chip will fry when you nicely ask it to dispell the heat out sideways through the waterblock, heat sink, pipe, phase.. or what ever you're using.. if you want a good overclock, you need a motherboard that can handle the heat and the voltage... so tear off that stock socket and make a new one.. one that accommodates the rising heat.. and aswell the radiating heat. (ever touch the back of your motherboard?)

6th.. make you owns**t, or modify what you have, generally 3rd party cooling solutions are very well designed... except they're using the wrong information to design them. :~

i do overclock other peoples machines for them. Using what they have in their cases and in their wallets, all materials are sold at my cost, and my time at $20/hr.
In return, they gain a machine that is unmatched by any other with the same specs, and any amount of information they can manage to remember, record on tape, or write the f**k down.. both on the finished product and the production process.

i started a thread about this a while back, but is very outdated now.
i dont have any of the hardware i posted there anymore, lol.

http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/59626/

anyway, My A64 X2 3800+ Toledo runs at 2,8Ghz (2Ghz stock :) )
my memory is doing 470Mhz with 2,5 3 3 5 1T, (400Mhz 2,5 3 3 8 Stock :) )
And my X1800XT is running 690/1600, (625/1500 Stock) (did this with ati overdrive, did not bother to go higher with other software yet)

i think thats about it?

Post Count +1 :)

Pentium 4 Northwood 2.66Ghz to 3.32Ghz
166 FSB x 20 locked multi = 3320 mhz

My crap DDR333 Ram runs at 166mhz, so therefore I got a 660mhz CPU overclock without having to overclock my subpar ram at all. 1:1 FSB : DRAM ratio.

How did you know I was a magic freak? :D

Note: Celeron's suck for OCing. They have massive multipliers anyway...

I've managed to OC an ATi Radeon X700Pro about 15% stably. Just waiting for it to burn in some more...
