I cant figure out how to get the old nVidia control panel to display. Can you even get the old control panel in the G80 cards? The G80 cards have different drivers than the DX10 cards. I hate the "new" nVidia control panel and would like to go back to the old if possible. Thanks.

If you go to display properties/settings tab/then open the GPU tab a pop out panel opens on the left. On the right you see the Start the nvidia control panel. On the left it should say launch page, and Control panel user interface. Click on the interface one and a new window should open giving you the option to use the new nVidia control panel, or the classic control panel which is what you want.

Actually no you can't Crash! It's gone on our 8800 drivers. Personally, I think the
new panel sucks big time. I don't like it! On the old panel I could set up hot keys for
my gamma, etc. That's all gone too. I'm not happy about this new panel.
Drivers for G70's still have the optional old panel though :(

How you getting on with your card anyways? It's a beast isn't it! I'm well happy with mine!

On my system I can open the nvidia control panel or the nvidia nview desktop manager from the control panel. The desktop manager has a hot keys tab. You can't use that?, or is it not listed with your drivers

Damn. I hate this new control panel. They better put the old one back in in future drivers.

Payton,

The only thing I have on that left panel is Launch page. That is it. :( Damn you nVIDIA!!!

Yer that card is a beast. My dad just spent a fortune (about 2K AU$) on a pair of 8800GTXs. Although Im not sure If I would have recommended it or not. I mean, hes got a decent CPU (AM2 4600+), but I would assume anything short of a FX-62 or E6800 would be a bottleneck...lol doesnt matter he still thrashes my pc lol.

Take Care..
Oh btw, I HATE THAT PANEL TOO. Just thought id part with that :D

Tam,

I forgot to mention. I did manage to test a couple of games. DoW, Dow: DC, and HMBM. The DoW games are easy to max out on, but HMBM is a resource hog and I have the entire game at max settings *1280x1024 screen res* and I can run the game at ~50FPS. Thats full AA and AF.

Can't stand the new Nvidia control panel either. Its a pain just trying to find simple settings and such.

Yeah. I wanted to oc the video card, but then realized I couldn't. The version of Rivatuner I had didn't support the G80 series and the old control panel was not there either. I doubt coolbits is able to detect the G80 anyway. Then again, I may be wrong. After all this happened, I realized that there was a new version of Rivatuner that supports the G80. I mainly want the old control panel back so I can monitor the temp the card easier. Otherwise, Im stuck with nTune.

Hi Payton, on the 8800 GTX Drivers you can't access that specific panel with the
hot keys, etc (the 8800 drivers are seperate and completely different as this's a DX10 and not
DX9 Drivers from the G70 series) as it's been completely removed. I have found
a way though to get the hotkeys back tho, and the only way to do this is by installing
nVidia nTune. From there you can get the Nview control panel.
For G70's and below, these options are still within the drivers.

I ran the 8800 Demos tonight (Frog & Adrienne) and this is where I seen the bottle neck
happen for firsdt time on my current rig. Tomorrow when I build my Duo Rig, the
demos will be the first thing I'll run to see how much of a difference there is

Adrianne & Froggy! http://www.putfile.com/phuxache1972

Tam...

Crash you can montor the temps etc if you download load the nTune from
nvidia :)

PS: Payton, I totally dig ur webpage! Hehe well good!

Ah right ok. You mentioned Riva Tuner I didn't realise this was the same thing i thought
Riva was 3rd party software. I've just started using nTune for first time. I've never really
used any other software on my GPU before to be honest

Neither have I. I have just used the one built into the old nVidia control panel.
