To prevent vista from requiring signed drivers:

1. customize the start menu and enable the run command, in the run command box, type cmd

2. enter the following in the command window that appears, to disable driver signature checks:
bcdedit –set nointegritychecks ON

3. reboot the computer

{Edit} if the "bcdedit –set nointegritychecks ON" does not work, try "bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON"

It seems that only works on Pre-RC/RTM builds (such as Beta2). :(

Microsoft is requiring all drivers to be signed, which is bullshit. Next thing you know, they won't let you disable UAC.

Also ... why doesn't HWA have a "f***ing p**sed off" smiley? isn't "angry" looking at all!

Woot!

bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS from an administrator command-prompt works. Finally, ATI Tray Tools on Vista! :-D

Unlike the other bcdedit option, this one works on RTM (build 6000).

I never disabled it, and have thrid party drivers for my sound card (unsigned) and Ati Tray Tools working perfectly since first time installing them last week.

When it gives you the warning, just click install anyway. Much easier.

For some sound drivers, that works (clicking Install Anyway). Doesn't work for ATI Tray Tools, it's enforced that you have to have signed kernel mode drivers.

Are you running 64-bit Vista? The driver enforcement isn't on 32-bit Vista.

Hes on 32-bit Vista until he gets his x64 in the mail.
