For some reason with my computer on for maybe 5-15 minutes it will just freeze. I just got done reformatting it 2 days ago and everything is not installed. I did just install some games and norton security and some other things to catch it back up.

Some times it is only for a couple minutes and others it wont come back. My computer is emachines and 5-6 years old.

But it still seems to freeze for no reason. Does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Since a virus or other such malady is unlikely and it is a rebuild all the usual suggestions are probably also unlikely. One important thing is did you reload the motherboard drivers that came with the mobo or their updates. It would be something easily forgotten faced with reloading all the software. these drivers are often Crucial to system performace and could affect the system while it works its way through a "problem'.

Ah yes that is what it was. Once I did that my system ran perfect. It had not froze once.
Thank you

Thanks with most troubleshooting its eliminating the obvious and see whats left. Often we get too close to the task and we have all wasted many hours learning that fact. Corporately they allow about 10 minute to fix a workstation or they just rebuild. We generally do not have that luxury. I now try all the obvious ones and if they are not working the second time I around walk away and think about it. It can save much aggravation and frustration. Over night is better.
