I assume you mean stream processors?

I believe the 8600xx will have 64 stream processors (I like to call them 'streamers' lol), also known as unified shaders

128mb or 256mb on a 8600GT with 128bit wide memory bus. Not impressed. I hope they don't make a 128mb model of it.

The 8600GTS with 256mb but still only a 128bit wide memory bus. No plans for 512mb model?

I think ATI will have better mid-range cards than these.

Yea this card series looks kinda like the industry as a whole is realizing the market gaps and trying to fill them with actually good hardware. Plus I think this step is huge, the last of the 8XXX series especially in SLI was such a power drag that I'm sure this series will sit well with OEM's that want a mid range SLI solution in their ranks that are much more power conservative, but with still performing results. I cant wait to test one,

i think the GTS needs to have a 256 bit wide memory bus. the fact that its still only 128 is garbage

I recently purchased this card for one of my customers, he was very happy with it and as for performance welll definetely Mid-Range, but I guess it is sufficient to play most games. Recommended for saving costs and casual gamers.
