For anyone with an Orange Livebox, these things come with the Live Printer functionality disabled as Orange are currently struggling with "the software" but it actually works!

I've plugged my Epson C62 into the Livebox USB, enabled Liveprinter within the admin pages and then ran through this:

Step one: add printer manually - do not detect it.
Step 2: create new port
Step 3: select standard TCP/IP port
Step 4: enter 192.168.1.1
Step 5: wait till windows can’t detect the port properly, and then choose HP Jet direct from the list.
Step 6: choose the printer driver and all is fine and dandy!

I just tried this on both my main PC and Dell laptop and I'm printing throught the Livebox wirelessly from the living room

Okay - having trouble getting the Epson print monitoring to work now I've plugged it into the Livebox - no idea how to work out which ink needs replacing without. Anybody got any ideas please? :-S

Yup, I got that too - I personally turn all that stuff off tho - once a light starts flashin, stick it into a USB for a bit.

I'm sure once we start using "Orange's" software it'll be available - the reason you can't see it is due to the fact that all you are using thru the Livebox is the driver and not all the utilities.

Good idea - just plugging it into pc when light flashes (or becomes steady) but think will wait for the software now - have put everything back the way it was. Thanks for the idea though.

I believe they're working on both Live Printer and Live Photo - bluetooth ot wifi pics from your camera or phone direct to your PC

It's bluetooth enabled by default I think too.

I can print to my printer upstairs from the back garden with my laptop - great stuff!

Aim is to send pics to C drive and print them off without leaving the lounge.

Just tried this with desktop and laptop with perfect results!!!!!

Hi All
I'm trying to get this to work. I enabled LivePrinter - no problems.
Plugged in the printer (Lexmark Z730).
Tried to create the suggested port (192.168.1.1)
Got an error message saying there was an error creating port. (can't remember the exact message but can get it again if important)
I can create other ports eg 192.168.1.2 and link the approprited driver (but obviously this wont work).

Any suggestions?

I trust the driver is already installed and that you are administrator to this machine?

These will/may impact setting up.

I'd Google the error as I've set this up on 3 machines now no probs - I trust the IP address is not already in use?

I've had the Live box for over 15 months and got fed up of not being able to print through it, so did the only thing open to me ..bought a " Belkin All in one Print Server" which works all the time every time. ! "She Who Must Be Obeyed" hogs it for most of the time churning out endless lists of her dodgy ancestors and I just about get a look in when I want to print off my bank statement..... Anyone know why I can 't get it in any other colour but RED??

OK well I used these instructions and tweaked them a little for XP Pro - they worked and I can now print to my Brother DCP340CW printer direct from 2 PC's via the Orange Livebox (my printer is connected via network cable), although I din't use the IP address 192.168.1.1, but the IP address of my networked printer which happened to be 192.168.001.189 in my case.


As to why you are only getting RED, is that on both PC's or just yours?

How did you determine the IP address of the printer?

Am trying to do the same with XP Pro and HP LaserJet 5 with JetDirect.

Can't see the printer IP address anywhere in the (rubbish) printer menu system...

I am successfully file sharing between a wireless laptop and a desktop PC connected to the livebox via an ethernet cable. However, I am unable to share my usb printer through the usb port of the livebox.
Livebox firmware is up to date but cannot find any reference to Liveprinter in the admin/config pages and am therefore unable to enable this functionality. Any advice gratefully received.
