I've been looking at a lot of cases for my new system - the ninehundred seems to offer great cooling and space for a good price. I wanted something that will keep my C2D E6600 and 8800GTS nice and cool... without a really glitzy appearance and too many gimmicky lights (though the 900 has a couple, i know :p).

Is this a good bet or can anyone suggest a better alternative? I did look at the Antec P180 which I like... its clean and quiet and cool, but a little more expensive. What do you reckon?

For reference, it will contain:
Intel E6600
Gigabyte 965P-DS3
2Gb Geil PC6400 800
Sparkle 8800GTS 640Mb

Gigabyte DS3Pro v3.3
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.2Ghz
Inno3D GTX260 OC
GeIL 2GB 800Mhz PC6400 4-4-4-12
2x Samsung SATA2 300Gb
Sony BD-ROM BDUX10S
Thermaltake 550W PSU
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit

That's the case I've been looking at ... I love it. Looks great, has insane air cooling and more than enough room for me. I'm getting it. :)

How quiet is it tho? I watch a lot of DVDs and don't want the noise of a vacuum cleaner in the room while i'm at it :p

John,

The fans that it comes with have L/M/H switches. Since the fans are bigger fans, they don't have to move as fast to move the same amount of air. All the reviews I've seen say it's nice and quiet on the low and medium settings, and starts to rev up on the high settings.

That's about the same hardware that I'm planning for it (E6600, 8800GTS). :_)

I prefer the new P190 thats coming out. But it is a decent case, or would be if it didnt have so many fans.

More does not mean better when it comes to fans

I see one major problem, power cords might not be long enough for the motherboard (20/24, 4, and maybe 4+4 pin) That's a problem with a lot of cases that have the PSU on the bottom instead of the top.

There's also lots of plastic on top which is quite odd. I'm only counting 4x120mm fans which isn't great but more than average.

Doesn't look like there's many external 5.25" bays without butchering the internal bays. Also, I don't see any external 3.5" bays for floppies and such.

Not my pick but whatever floats your boat.

There's a 200mm at the top. :)
