Windows continues to amaze me with its random, idiotic problems.

My sister has a Lenovo X60. A little while ago her internet stopped working.

Went to network connections control panel; it's blank. Nothing there. If I try to 'add new connection' (broadband) it says the connection should already be functional. But there is no LAN icon, no wireless connection icon, nothing.

Went into a program called IBM access connections, set up her wireless network at work and it connects.

Device manager shows wireless and wired adapters working and enabled (as does IBM access connections.)

How is this possible???? She says she did not delete anything in the network connections control panel, and the computer obviously can go online and the network adapters are working, yet there is absolutely nothing when you go into the control panel.

This is a problem because now her VPN isn't working, and I wish I could just set up windows to control internet connections instead of this f'in IBM access crap.

Thanks for your help.

If you go to Start/run and type "services.msc" without the quotes and scroll down to "Network Connections" is it set to Automatic startup and running?

Here's another link that might help, directly from Microsoft:
