Hi all,
I have Windows XP Professional x64 installed on my PC, and use iTunes for all my music. The problem is that it goes mute by itsself all the time. It doesn't activate the mute button on its own, it just stops outputting sound all the time. I can only fix the problem temporarily by either hitting pause and then play again, or by skipping to some other part in the song. It fixes itself every time a new song goes on, so once it goes mute, it stays mute for the rest of the song, unless I do one of the two things mentioned above. I have all the latest drivers installed, and am helpless... I have no idea what this could be, and haven't found anything on the apple forums. Help?

Regards

I'm assuming you have the latest version of iTunes?

You know from experience I find Itunes to be the worst program for music ever. I own a 30 gig ipod video and a 30 gig zune. I quit using Itunes and use Zune software for the zune and Floola for the ipod. Media player 11 is nice for music player and video player but about worthless for Ipod and zune.

I would bet its a audio driver issue .

To answer your questions:
Yes, I have the latest version of iTunes (7.3.2.6). Well, i love iTunes except for this damn annoying flaw, and I actually need it as well, since I have an iPod (nano, 4GB). I can't use Media Player 11, since I have x64, and you can only get Media Player 10 for that. Maybe I'll switch to that, though, if there is no solution to this problem, because, as mentioned before, it is damn annoying. As to the driver issue: For any other program, the sound works flawlessly (except for a little problem I had yesterday with the Bioshock demo, but I don't think that's got anything to do with it...), so I think it's an iTunes problem. Any ideas on what to do?

Regards,

Use Floola for your Ipod.

far more stable. Just remember to install the converter tool. Go to options convert and select install.
