I worked the retail industry selling computers, fax machines, printers, scanners, and most other types of office equipment. I know for a fact that several of the companies out there give refurbished machines, as a replacement, to their customers when the customer has a machine needing repair. Most customers think, when they hear the word "replacement
", that they'll be getting a brand new machine. Sadly this quite often is not the case.
Who's to say they aren't taking returned, or repaired, items and selling them as new after they have been repaired? I don't know if they actually do it, but it wouldn't surprise me.
