HI,

I have just put together a new system (spec included at end of post).

I have a big problem with my pc after shutting down whether it be through windows or pressing the front power button the pc will restart. I do not mean it will reset instead of shutting down as it totally powers down for around 5 seconds before turning itself back on again.

Appreciate any help!

Pauk

My ASUS P5K has the same problem??? Also when the power supply to the computer is turned off, PSU cable removed, or PSU switched off then the CMOS is cleared. The CMOS battery is fine.

I might do an RMA.

Make sure all the "wake on..." settings are off/disabled in the BIOS. If that doesn't fix it, try flashing the BIOS to latest version. If that doesn't fix it, try a different power supply. If it still isn't fixed, try unplugging everything that isn't needed to get it to the desktop (especially optical drives). Finally, if none of the above fixed it, you got a bad motherboard on your hands.
