As some may know I set up a Computer systems website after spending what some would say it too much time on HWA.. well back in the day..

The computer systems had high performance quality and best of all ranked highly in benchmarking results.
Sadly, some site/persons decided to steal the name or brand or just wanted to cash in on the results in the flag ship computer sytems that I produced and some of the HWA members designed and spec'd.
Ultima (ULTIMA) and GT ULTIMA computers were only built by me sometime ago but certain sites have been selling these ultima computers.

One of the main considerations for the problem say on http://www.ultimacomputers.com is that they have the registired trademark after ULTIMA on their website.

This ULTIMA is a trade mark of a building company who make prefab buildings.

Its been some time since updating my website with the computers and I am having to find a new name for the flag ship systems (ultima) and replacing this name.
At the time of building the computers and finding a fairly unique name at the time was mainly titled by the competition as extreme or Xtreme computers.. this is a bit tacky and poor so I am looking for a new name for the computer systems.

SO.. I think Psy4 may be a good name. Anyone got anymore sugestions?

If you do get a new name and you are confident that they are indeed taking it from you, make sure to register a trademark. As I see it, it's not a scam because you didn't trademark the name before they did. Remember, the more places you register it (e.g. EU, USA, etc.) the more power there is behind it. If you only register it in one place, it can be used any where that does not recognize those trademarks.

As for a name...I haven't seen "Surpeme" used to describe a computer...

Here's a bunch of synonyms for "ultimate:"
extreme, greatest, highest, incomparable, living end, max*, maxi*, maximum, most significant, paramount, pre-eminent, superlative, supreme, surpassing, the most, the mostest, topmost, towering, transcendent, unequalable, unmatchable, unsurpassable, utmost

How about Maxidows which is the combination of Maximum and Windows. In other words, the best of Windows computers. If they will only ship with Vista, Maxista works well too. XD

According to archive.org and WHOIS, this site existed since 1997 and has been owned by the same small computer company all these years, so I doubt that they stole the name from you.

Also, according to USPTO, there are dozens of trademarks registered for the word "ultima" on everything from pillows to grass seeds to bottle caps.

Dominus Regi?

Translates roughly into "Lord of Kings" from Latin.

Maybe just "Dominus" for Master? Rex is "king" but people probably think "T-Rex" as in the king of dinosaurs.

Edit: Vilicus, which means "Overseer".

Apologies for side-tracking the conversation, but an interesting fun-fact about Lord British: he is currently scheduled to fly to space next year (on-board Russian Soyuz) and his father was an astronaut decades ago.

Ultima is not that unusual a name. As noted above, a lot of others have used it, and it has even seen prior use in the computer industry.

As for a future name, before you settle on one, think of all the ways it could be corrupted negatively by competition, in reviews, etc.

For example, "Maximum Extreme" = ME = crap in some minds.

"Supreme" brings to mind tacos, as in "Run for the border", or put another way, stay away from this computer.

That kind of thing.

Supreme and tacos? When I think supreme I think pizza. To be fair, I don't like supreme pizza either.

It may well take until the year 3000 to get over the ME moniker!

"Supreme" brings to mind tacos, as in "Run for the border", or put another way, stay away from this computer.

Taco Bell has just opened a franchise in Mexico, so what is the connotation of this now?!?!
Also, Cisco is in BIG trouble in Brazil! Run home!

Yeah, I also associated supreme with pizza. I was thinking Supreme Commander when I suggested it.

I know it had been around, My concern was that it can effect the sales, reviews and boost their sales.

there are some good names, and some bad ones. I used ultima as when I searched the net I didnt find anything that listed ultima as a computer company.

I really dont get how a US company and a UK company could have the same trademark. its a bit stupid really, you would think that they are global. maybe not then.

I picked ultima because it got away from everyone who was calling their computers extreme. and I didnt want to to say ultimate.

keep the names coming, but try to keep away from things like food and what could be negative

For a gaming system:

These would be crossfire or SLI quads:

GTW-FRAGGER-xxxxx
GTW-FRAPMAX-xxxxx or GTW-FPSMAX-xxxxx

Both of these are geared towards Speed.

The FRAGGER would be a wired KB/Mouse combo that provided for the fastest and most responsive twitch components.

The FRAPMAX would be a monster GPU system geared towards getting the best FPS from Crysis on a Vista DX10 system running Crysis at reasonable (60FPS) rates at the highest settings. BTW, I don't know if this exist.

Epicenter? The heart of an entertainment-quake.
Inferno? Requires a fiery paint job. ;)

N00BINATOR!

Sounds like a sex toy! LMAO

Well Since one of the major hits on the server is for gaming computers, custom computers, photo/ video editing I have made a start on teh new computer systems website...

Still need those names though..

Going for Psy4 computer systems as the business name.

Psy4 Elite as the flag ship systems - generally over kill systems.

Need names for video eiditing, Photo editing, Media systems,

Do you think that the systems should have names or numbers within there sections?

Normally I would call them ULTIMA X1 or Ultima GT3 something like that.. suggestions plz.

Think NVIDIA/AMD graphic cards. The numbers are much easier to sort out than all the damn GT, GTS, GTX, Pro, GS, XT, XTX, blah, blah, BLAH. Think Intel with E6850, E6800, E6600, etc. Even though numbers aren't as flashy, they are far more helpful in making a determination rather than cryptic suffixes.
