During the questions and answer session he also revealed his own computer habits.

"There are a lot of PCs in my house - over 10," he said.

In particular, he said, he used a tablet PC, a notebook computer that is operated with a digital stylus.

However, he said, he does not use his competitor's products.

"There are no Macs in my house," he admitted.

I'd have thought he would at least had an iPod. Doesn't everyone? :)

I do feel the new 80GB zunes are superior to the iPod (Classic) in nearly every way. I do sometimes wish for the wheel, but I love having the 4-way directional button (or rather button that senses where your finger is and clicks in that direction).

If I were him I'd probably have more than 10 PC's (Quad cores for every room, then a monster with 4 monitors for my main PC.

5TB, that's called a Zerver, dude. LOL ;)

Quad core? He's probably got it. Really 10 computers for a guy like him is nothing. And I bet everyone of them are multi-thousand dollars when it's made. I heard somewhere before, his multi-million mansion is hard wired with computer controls and solar panel, etc. Afterall, he's richer than you and me. LOOOL ;)

My Zen Vision M is damaged :( It doesn't connect to any Pc, no matter what I do, my sister's Zen works fine though. And a good time too, just outside the warranty.

"A four monitor monster"...hahaha.
If I recall properly, in "The Road Ahead" they had the specifications for his house, and he had monitor WALLS that he could select whatever scenery he or anyone else wanted when they walked into a room, and this is over 10 years ago!
Yeah right, he has 10 PCs in his house, but he has the equivilent to his own datacenter as well!

I heard he is really good at Project Gotham Racing for the Xbox. Since he will be retiring from his day to day job at Microsoft, I'm sure he'll have time to play games sometimes in-between writing checks to charity.

I have 6 PC's in my house, and I'll have 7 once I build my new system. What now, Mr. Gates?

4PCs/Workstations, 2 Laptops, 5 Servers including GB copper and fibre, 100BaseTx, and WiFi 802.11g. WEB, SQL, FTP, Scraper, Security System, Firewalls, and Media Services for 2 Audio systems and 3 TVs.
3 more servers awaiting activation/need.

Heck the HW is cheap, cheap, cheap, it's the OS and SW cost that are killing me!
I wonder if Uncle Bill is properly licensed for all of his Microsoft OSs and applications or if he's fudging it?
BTW, I seem to recall that when MS anounced the original "TerraServers" they weren't running MS SQL or OS, but Linux and Oracle (since changed of course, but at the time MSSQL wasn't stable enough). I wonder how much of his house is run off of Unix derivatives....

We have 8 running computers in our house. 3 in my room, 1 in the living room, my dad's laptop, my mom's laptop, my brother's computer, and the Dell downstairs.
