I'm looking to put something together with a budget of around $1400.
This is what I have so far...

COOLER MASTER Stacker 830 Evolution RC-830-SSN3-GP Silver Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case
$160 - 60 MiR = 100

GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
$200

BFG Tech BFGE88512GTSE GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB
$330 - 30 MiR = 300

Thermaltake W0106RU Complies with ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V version 700W Power Supply
$170 - 40 MiR = 130

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
$275

OCZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2G8002GK
$48 - 22 = 26

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card
(already have)

Already have hdd, dvd, etc

I am curious if any of you have suggestions for me. I am looking to OC, but nothing extreme. I am content pushing processor to around 3 ghz. Regardless, cooling is an issue. Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :P

I'd suggesting getting better Power Supply, FSP Epsilon FX700-GLN (700W) is what I would suggest.

If that memory is only CAS5 then I'd spend the extra $20 or so and get CAS4. As with the powersupply, the one Supreet recommended is good and I also recommend this OCZ GamerXStream 700W:

I suggest the HX620 over all those psu's.And the F1orton and the OCZ are the same PSU.Made by the same company.Just OCZ and forton repackages and sells them as their own.And memory spend a few more buck and grab crucail or Gskill or even Geil.My Evo Ones OC to over DDR2 1000 at 4-4-4-10 with 2.2v,But other wise that system looks great. That gigabyte boared is on my list of next upgrades to so ill be intrested seeing how well it OC your quad when you get it.But i can tell youif your only gonna run one videocard and a nvidia one at that you dont need a crossfire board.Look at my board. It has raid and a lot of usb ports and 6 sata ports and OC's my Q6600 to over 4.0ghz with realtive ease.As for cooling if you plan on air coolig look at Thermalrights Ultima 90 or Ultra 120 Extreme. They offer the best performance for quads. There other but they seem to be hit and miss.I see some guys swear by the tuniq tower and then others hate it.So i say go with the best the frist time

ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 / i7 4790K / Corsair H80i / 4x4GB Crucial Ballistix Smart Tracer DDR3 1600 / 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black / 240GB Mushkin Chronos Deluxe SSD / 2x Evga GTX 670 FTW 2GB in SLI / Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty / Corsair HX1000w

I wouldn't go with the gold editions from OCZ as (from what I've read) give lots of problems. Buy the platinum if you like some cheap OCS memory, or buy other brands.
