I have just re-formatted my computer,and this was installed previously...on trying several times to re-instal my Epson R300 printer get these errors...

Either the driver doesn`t end up in "Printers & Faxes"

or it does but will not print....

Following instruction to the latter:- disable anti-virus...start installing printer driver...when it asks for power on and connect to computer..I get the following...."Cannot instal this Hardware...There was a problem installing this hardware..EPSON stylus photo R300 series..an error occurred during the installation of the device..The printer is unknown "


and if I click in "Printers & Faxes " on the printer icon, when it ends up in there on properties....all desktop icons disappear and then re-appear.

Even get this error message if its said printer installed on port usb...every time I connect printer to computer...


Been through this hundreds of times....HELP..

Nothing different on my computer either now or before reformat

check the cable and port.

Download new drivers off the website.

sounds like a fault in the OS of mobo.

Do a error check on your disc (boot scan)

is it turned on... turn on them plug in the USB port.

Manually put the driver in the system32 folder.

Check on divice manager... I have a feeling after you did the install, you forgot to install teh motherbaords drivers. Easy mistake..

M/Board drivers all installed

I installed the same one on my SP2. First, just install everything that comes in the cd then uninstall all the excess fat and use CCleaner to remove whatever is left. Although, it should work first time.

(Ink is a bit costly on them, go Stratford Computer Fair and you can get all colours for about a fiver.)
