I was surfing the web and the laptop made a failing sound and just went blank. I tried with and without the battery to turn it on but only the power light comes on but norhing else. Does anyone have any ideas? Its a Sony vaio s260. Thanks

There is a known issue with the S series Vaios and the video sub-system failing. If you have this particular problem, there are not many options but to either have the motherboard repaired or replaced.
