Thats a decent OC, especially for a cheapo cooler.

I wouldnt worry about those temps, if its 15hours prime stable - its bloomin' stable enough!

Enjoy!

yeah i also added another intake fan . so my coolermaster centurion 5 case now theres 2 80mm fans in the fron sucking in and a 120mm exhaust fan. when i only had one fan the temps was around 65c.i might add a fan on the side panel to see if thatll help bring it down alittle more.

60c is a bit high but not bad.Why dont you get a zalman 9700 or something like that and try for 3.8ghz

That's a pretty good overclock for a cheap cooler. If you are happy with 3.5Ghz and it's perfectly stable then keep it there. If you start seeing temps going to 65 C to 70 C then I'd have to recommend a better cooler or that you bring it down to around 3.2Ghz or so and see how much it cools down. Personally I'd try to keep it under 60 C at all times.

yeah im getting a better cooler prabably in a week or so. the cooler i have now was for my pentium d 805 . id figure id use that cooler since it isbetter than the stock one. right now i backed it down to 3.2 and the temps stay below 55c at full load for couple of hours. i dropped it cause of the temps just to be on the safe side . i just wanted to stay away from 60c as much as i could but still have a decent oc.

Oh...well never mind then. I just woke up. 39 on one and 35 on the other seems like a lot of disparity. Mine are usually always within a degree or so of each other.

If it was a few seconds after it had gone idle, you sould easily see that differernce, if not more - if 1 core was working on something while the other was idle

alright guys update ijust baught a zalman cnps9700 led. it improved on the temps at full load its at 55c . thats with a 3.5oc i thought it would drop the temps lower than that. but one thing i noticed is that after screwing on the heat sink it doesnt clamp down to cpu that tight it can still be moved side to side very easily. any one else with the same cooler has that problem?i may try reseating itagain i may not have enough thermal on there . ohh if any one was wonderin i have it so its blowing air out the back.

Those temps seem ok for that cooler. Its not really very good. More for looks and quietness than cooling efficiency.

Were you sure to put the metalpart that looks like an "S" correct? It changes position depending on were you're pointing the Zalman.

I'm running the same CPU and cooler as Dublin's with the same overclock (specs in profile). After an 11 hour burn in at 100% with Stress Prime Orthos, I was at 43C for the CPU, and 56C for the CPU cores. I really have issues with the Zalmans because of cat hair clogging the fins, and a lot of dust/dirt from living on a really busy street. Same issue with the Thermalright but it's a bit more user friendly cleaning wise. And yes I use filters on the case intakes.

Just read this thread. Someone was sayin his temps were "too high" after 15 hours of
Prime! Wot you on about eh? 15 hours of stress torture and you're sayin 60c too high.
60c for 15hrs of cpu stress torture is s**t hot. It's a stress test. No ones OC'd computer
is gonna run stressed for a short length of over normal activities (gaming, video apps) let
alone 15hours. His Idle temps are like in 30's.Whehn he games, he'll be touchin 40-50's,
and that's still good for an aircooled system. jeez

GPU's is another one....

You get folks on here who say 60c for a GPU at gaming is TOO HIGH. There's thresholds
for GPU's they're at 115c. If you get the threshold then you're GPU's fooked lol!
Some folks on here not got a scooby

CoreTemp reads about 64c max load (die temp, Everest confirms), but the CPU temp in Everest is about 49C.

Bare in mind I dont have a powerful fan on it, and its in a 'pull' configuration.

Tam - we're talking CPU temp!!!! Prime doesnt stress the GPU..................

Also, the temp shouldnt keep on rising, it should remain pretty much the same at 1 hour as it is at 15

The GPU temp was another subject I added on cos we're on about temps here.
GPU temps have been included in HWA forums, so i thought i'd mention these too.
I know we're on about CPU Prime temps btw!
