hi i i want to know if a can add window media center to window xp pro cd? coz i got media center but i havent got the code for it and it not a oem one! so i was thinking that can i add all the media cener files to windows xp pro cd and whaen i boot the pro cd it will instaill media center so plz can some one help me?????????/

You can try, but chances are XP MCE will need a fresh install. Unfortunatly for you a non-OEM version probably won't work with a custom rig anyway. So you can pick-up a copy of MCE on some online retailer or do what I did, use a bunch of third-party software. When I purchased my TV tuner card, it came with a suite of applications that work very much like MCE anyway.

I'd go with 3rd party programs, too. Lots of quite good freeware out there.

I've found the MCE layer of "XP MCE 2005" on several different computers to be, in technical terms, screwy. Would suspect the XP Home-based MCE is just as screwy.

Trying to sqoosh MCE into pre-existing installs of "vanilla" XPs is just asking for trouble.

Plain ol' "Windows XP MCE" is layered on XP Home, and "Windows XP MCE 2005" is layered on XP Pro.
