Two quick questions, I have just bought a new rig and everything, and the build went down with nary a major hitch, (Apart from a dud hard-drive), but the thing is that I run my XBOX 360 through my monitor using the VGA port. But because VGA isn't a sound transmitter as well I have to have the XBOX connected to a different sound system. This isn't news I have had it for awhile, but anyway, the VGA cable splits off with two sound outputs a White and a Red one, not to get them working on my standard headphone jack it had a doohickey that transformed it, and I have lost it, what are they called so I can buy another one?

And how do I make a usb drive work when trying to install an OS?

PC's they come and go.

If you want a usb to be detected prior to installing the OS, your BIOS have to have support for usb. If it does (like most modern motherboards), you can boot from usb. If you want usb drivers in the console, try loading either a partition magic boot cd or any recovery software boot cd, they have usb drivers most of the time by default.

As for the xbos audio converter, check here for the name and look it up on google:

I use this for my xbox360 to connect it to my computer monitor.

You can even plug it into your sound card without having to use a differnet set of speakers.
