Can you guys plz answer me these questions....

1)Does windows xp and windows vista "both in 32 bit edition", support 4GB ram?

2)Whats the difference b/w 32bit and 64bit windows edition, and how much the performance would be effected?

3)Is there any really difference to play a game on 1280*1024 then a normal 1024*768 resolution?

4)I use to play game on resolution of 1024*768 or 1280*960,,what graphic card is best for me, i have a budget of 330$?

5)If i upgrade my ram to 4Gb, does the game performance would be effected too, bcoz there still some physical memory available, (In windows task bar).

6)I got two anti virus running now,,avg and Nod32,,I want to having only one of them to be installed on my PC,,which anti virus should i delete?

Any reply would be greatly appreciated.

1) No, there's a certain limit around 3.15 GB or so, can't remember the exact number.

2) The main difference is that you can support up to 128 GB, but there are some other perks as well, I believe

3) You'll notice less "jaggies," but at the cost of framerate. It takes just a little more power to run at 1280 than at 1024

4) I recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130325

5) 4GB of RAM is going to do nothing but increase performance.

6) Delete AVG, because NOD32 is... how shall I say? AWESOME!

Yes but not all of that 4 GiB will be available due to VM tables, extended BIOS memory, etc. You'll only have 3-3.5 GiB available.

Vista, not much; XP, a lot. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is based on Server 2003 x64 Edition so as far as stability goes, there is no desktop OS that comes close. Other than that, the benefits are really the same as any other 32-bit and 64-bit comparison (e.g. 64-bit can access a lot more memory natively, it only takes one clock to handle 64-bit instructions instead of two, etc.). Since there's really very little in the consumer market that needs 64-bit processing, it really doesn't effect performance much.

It's a 66% increase in pixels. That basically means more information is being displaced in the same amount of space. If you have a CRT, this means higher detail. If you have an LCD and 1280x1024 is it's native resolution, it will also mean higher detail. That also means framerates can drop upwards of 66%.

Can't go wrong with an 8800 GT. They're down to around $200 USD.

Only if that game needs more than you already have. It's like making a 20,000 gallon tank 40,000 gallons. It's only worth it if you plan on putting more than 20,000 gallons of liquid.

I've never used NOD32 so I really don't have an opinion on that one.

As is often the case, the best way to answer this question is to try it. It is 100% reversible and causes no damage, so it doesn't hurt to try it.

It will depend on the display, the video card, the video memory, the video interface, video cable quality, video cable impedances, etc, and it will even depend on each game's program architecture.

But most importantly, it depends on personal preferences.

Some people are more sensitive to the irritation caused by lower frame-rates than others. Others are more affected by aliasing, etc.

So, you play with the settings for each game until you find the combination that works best for you. It's almost entirely trial-and-error.

Thank you guys for your replies. It helped me alot.
Now there is another problem,,i was just surfing the net, when the pc just shutdown,,,or i will say power off...no error, no warnings,,and no heat issue. So, i power on the pc,,and this time the windows was running too slow,,even at the boot screen it take aout a 1min. So, i check bad sectors,,and found that one of my drive was having it. I format it, still im having badsectors in it.
Also,,when the pc turn of the wrong way,,it doesn't run check disk process, when the xp is boot up.
So, whats can be the problem......

I would most likely attribute a sudden shutdown with no errors to the PSU. Possibly even a motherboard problem.

What is the make & model of your PSU?

You'll find that the disk check process you refer to doesn't always run on every intermittant shutdown.

I had a very similar issue recently, and it was the PSU. Got a new one, and no problems.

Ok wait, I just had to add my 2-cents to this one..

Mainly on the anti-virus software and here's a link comparing the top 28 (not in order of rank): http://blogs.pcmag.com/securitywatch/Results-2008q1.htm
[i use AVAST, they have over 50 million registered users and the home version is free]

And also, just get four gigs of ram.. the 32-bit OS can still use at least 3g, but as said early it can only address 4g. (DDR2 ram is cheap)

And ditto on a 8800gt video card..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143117

And shutdowns...maybe pwr supply (can u switch it out with a know good one or check volt output it with a software monitor), maybe memory (run memtest86) or maybe your motherboards chinese caps have finally gave out.
