Hey guys, i've had my PC for just about 3 years now and my Sagam F@st 800-840 has worked fine up until about December 2007. This is my problem:
In the taskbar, in the bottom right, you can see a triangle coloured red, yellow, green or bright green for stopped, connecting, connected, well connected respectively. Now, sometimes that little green triangle dissapears from the taskbar and the connection is lost. I then have to re-start my PC to re-gain my connection. I have looked everywhere and nobody seems to have the problem so could you guys please help me with this as it is seriously driving me insane. =]
Thanks,

Mr Deftino.

is this an internal modem or external?

You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.

did you intall any new software latlely?
specifically antivirus, anyspyware, firewall, etc
if so, that could block it if it is not recognizing it as a valid, not harmfull app.

also, certain windows updates could have caused it. in that case a reinstall of the software
should do it.

you can look in the event viewer to see if there is an entry that explains why this application
is not running anymore

You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.

hmm, i dont think i installed any software that could harm it. However, I did notice it happening whenever i had used a program. It also only begun happening when I had been on my Xbox 360 on Xbox Live. Another thing i forgot to say...9 times out of 10 it will go off whenever i insert a USB Pen, Mobile Phone or MP3 player into any empty USB Ports.

is this a laptop or desktop pc?
is the modem powered via usb or external?
- a laptop can only power so many devices if they require usb power, usually one.

if there is a non-windows symbol in your taskbar, the modem itself might have installed
the app automatically. check in the add/remove software or programs to see what is
installed. see if there is anything that pertains to the modem

you can also check in the running processes in the task manager.
