Hi guys,

My flatmate and I have just changed ISP and our new ISP gives us our IP Address, Default Gateway and DNS Server settings to put in. It is not connected via the phoneline, but by cable COAX.

This is all fine and we can run the Internet working on one PC fine, but because we have been given these network IP settings, we can not share the internet via a switch because we obviously get an IP conflict because we have to use the same IPs

Do we need to get a Wireless router? Or is there another way?

Cheers

Kieran

Yep, the easiest way is to get a wireless (or a wired-only) router. You will then put in your ISP's settings into the router, and the router will issue local IP's to all of your computers in the house.
