GT5 pffft seen it all before. Fancy new fandangled graphics for Cough PS3.
Big deal. CodeMasters new Racer due out in May is awesome.

and more pics here - a lot more http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=88487

This game looks gorgeous. Can't wait to play it. And I'm sure it'll play well too.
Amzingly detailed, and the cars look awesome. I know about as much you do about
this game.

And as for GT5... all the actual screenshots are indeed ingame - but replay's with
the nice motion blur and cam. It's rare as hell to see actual ingame footage from say
the inside of the car. Most are FMV shot. Typical. The game does look good tho.I played
the demo, but wasn't that impressed...

And for the Record... it annoys me and does my head in how Sony provokes their
so called "creativeness, and never been seen before graphics".... aye ok on a console...
WAKE UP!

....I'm back, but only as a part-timer... :)

Look how basic the environment is though, thats why they can crank it up, compared to that of call of duty etc

What?! Eh?! What planet you on Kieran?? Are your eyeballs painted on? That's
rich detail if i've ever seen one especially for a racer. Compare that to any NFS,
aprt from ProStreet, cos that is graphically a good lookin game. All the other NFS
are excellent games, but the graphical scenery is bland as hell. tut tu shame on you
for that awful quote! What else do you want in the game? Fairys and gobblins??
Why are you even comparing a race game to a 1st person game?

I hope this game puts the NFS series to shame (which is not very hard to do).

I love the NFS games because they're arcade racing games; i.e. they don't try to go for all that realism cr@p, which I just hate. They're simple, easy to understand, and they kill some time. I don't want to spend three days reading the manual to try and understand that those little icons blinking at me in the bottom corner mean I've left the handbrake on and my wing mirror is loose ;)

~ The manual said "Requires Windows '95 or better" ...so I installed Linux!

Yea I like "over exaggerated" arcade-stylee car games, just like NFS, and this's what
Racedriver Grid will be like too, only no cops, but hey who cares :P

Agreed 100%, but talking about realism, there is one very realistic game that I still enjoy playing and it is DiRT... don't need to read any of manuals, and the game is very very high detailed.
I will give GRiD a try but I don't think it can replace NFS... oh and I really miss cops.... I heard they're developing next underground series? Proly rumors... but I'm hopin...

Whoah I love DiRT! Excellent game! Love it! RaceDrive Grid's not intended to be like
NFS, more like PGR than anything else. Either way, i'm lookin forward to it! :)

Agreed, FPS games needs much more graphics and processing power, since you have complex environment, interactions, characters, destructable objects, effects, etc. Racing game all they need is a track, couple other cars, and some still images of the surrounding. You can't even drive or venture outside the default track, some even use invisible wall. That saves tons of graphics rendering by limiting what the user can see and go.

Regardless though, I think that game looks quite good, especially you can view from inside the car. Most console racing games nowadays, you can only see above and outside of the car as you drive. Being able to "sit" behind the wheel gives another level of realism. In fact, it's my default preference for buying racing game -- no inside view, usually no deal from me. GTR2 is excellent. Older NFS series (up to Porche Unleash) were great, too.

I also like to be able to drive around freely. I like Driver 3 a lot, excellent urban environment of Florida and France to explore. I can drive all day in this game without shooting anyone. ;) If only it could show in car view, that will be perfect.

I use 1st person View for my driving games. DiRT on the otherhand, i like to have
the cockpit view. Very well done that.

Dr.Peaceful, then scenery in GRiD is awesome. Compared to previous car games,
it's lookinf fantastic!
