A friend of mine rebooted his computer and can't find the correct driver. He doesn't know the name of the Sound Card other than it is a realtek. It still didn't work after installing many different versiond of AC'97. The muppet cannot be bothered to open up hios computer. Are there any other ways of fixing it without me going over there (will take me 20 minutes of my precious time) and boot his computer up his backside.

Get them to download and install Everest (available free from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html) and then run it to identify the sound card; it'll usually even provide a link to the driver site.
