Curse you, and all your money, and your pair of 8800GTS's.

No, I am sorry. I just feel like an ant here thinking about my single 7600GT, and my lack of money ( actually, I have $1.33 in my bank account ) *sigh*

Definitely gotta post us some benchmarks

Hey I feel ya 100%.I watch people on here get top of the line video cards and cpu's all the time. And i bust my butt to buy the mid level suff I get and then I try to OC it to within a inch of its life.
But seriously to stay ontop off things I always try to sell my stuff off before it gets to old and loses to much of its value.Thats how i upgrade all the time.In the last month ive bought 2 sets of ram a mobo and ultra 120 extreme and the E8400 and i dont think i put out more than $50 or $60 out of my pocket.

I was lucky this time.I had built a decent watercooling system about 6 months back and i only used it for about a week.(I was afraid it was gonna leak so i removed it..lol I just wasnt comfortable with water in my case)And i got almost $300 for all that plus i sold my Q6600 and my old P5K-E.So this upgrade was almost completely founded by my old stuff i had laying around.Ok yeah i bought all that stuff to but i did it the sameway.

By the way Kieran Blenkarne your system is pretty sweet. And there is nothing wrong with the 7600GT even if you game alot.I get my but kicked all the time by guys running the old AGP 6800 and X800Pro etc.So its not always what you run...lol Im living proof of that im probably the worst COD / COD 2 / CSS/ Crysis /Farcry player in the world but my system is 90% better than most of the guys that whipp my butt

Wow the 8800gts are in a great price range now. Wish I had one. :/

Hey Mothow how is that 750iFTW? Does it really overclock better than the 680i or the 780i? I'm really interested in it.

Im gonna be getting a 22 or 24 inch LCD asap!!!!!!! 1440x900 isnt gonna stress these cards.I dont even think Crysis will stress them at 1440x900 since thats less pixels than 1280x1024.ATM its pretty much just for kicks.

Oh and thanks for the complament!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know man, I don't think I'll buy one any time soon. Believe it or not I can max out all my games with the Max resolution which is 1680x 1050 and get above 60fps; exluding Crysis of course. So I don't see another video card as a worthy upgrade. Well at least not until I have a 40" or bigger 1080p HD-TV connected to my PC.

Mothow,
Just keep a eye on those temps. The OC differential may be what causes your old card with possibly lesser heat sink capability stable under high load.
Run the NVidia temp monitor with both cards in SLI mode to make sure that the older one isn't borderline when you flash it. If it is, then flash both cards back to the old cards speed, thus keeping them syncronized.

I've been eyeballing an 8800GTS 320MB for around $120-$130 ... :P Definitely time for me to start saving my pennies and ditching ye olde X800. :_)

With the GTS 512MB and the 9K series out, the 320MB GTS prices dropped pretty good. In a couple/three weeks when I have enough money, maybe they will even be under $100. :D
