I recently put together a system:

500w power supply
AMD 64x2 6000+
4gb ocx 800 ram
gforce 7600 pcie
400gb wd caviar

The problem:

I first boot the system (the very first time), and everything works fine. When the system restarts, no video. I can get my video back if I reset the cmos. If I change the default video in the cmos to either pci, or pcie the pc will have no video when after I save the changes. I have tried two video cards, in both pcie slots, and both do the same thing.

I cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is. Any help is much appreciated!!

If the CMOS is resetting itself, you may have a bad clock battery. You can either go out and buy one, or since the MoBo is new, contact the manufacturer.

Good Luck! :)

I managed to get windows installed, and booted (after having to reset the cmos multiple times). Then I used the asus update util to flash the bios. bingo! fixed the problem. I still have ~25 days left to return it, so I am keeping my eye on it. Thumbs down for asus.
