Hello, I was toying around with the Vista contacts and whats cool is it would allow me to call out to them but i'm having a hard time setting it up.

I have my telephone hooked up to my modem so is there a way to do this? Anyone know if it's possible to use your telephone with Vista?

I don't think you would need a telephone to make calls, just your modem hooked up to your telephone line.

Forgot to add this before, but you'll also need software to make phone calls with (not sure if Vista has this built in or not as I no longer have a modem). Also you'll need some sort of microphone and of course speakers. A headset should work fine as well.

I haven't looked into it, but it sounds like a Skype clone, in which case, you'd probably need to pay for a computer-to-phone call. Don't quote me on that, though. I could very well be wrong.

I seen when I was trying to set it up I could input a phone card but I'm not looking for that.

I was hoping since my phone provider is also my internet provider that I could use my computer to make calls. Like, when I go to my contacts in Vista I right click, go to actions, then click on "call this contact".

Was hoping if anyone had an idea if I can use my personal phone provider instead of using a calling card.
