Hey guys, Birthdays coming up, and im thinkin of getting a new PSU, as the capacitors in this Antec seems to be leaking and therefor giving off a taint squeeking sound... either way,
im not to used to Corsair or Hiper, but in my opinion i used a 550 watt Corsair with a single 12v rail at between 43-46 amps.. even if its a single rail, its still a s**tload of amps for it? u guys see my specs below, i like that corsair has a 3 year warranty here in sweden though... check out these links, theyre swedish, but the text is in english...

These are all in my Budget limit, so any help is appreciated!

I've never used a Corsair before, but I do own the 630W model of the Hiper you're looking at:
http://www.webhallen.com/prod.php?id=81759 (630W)

Great PSU, it was the replacement for a temporary generic 500W POS that I had in there after my Antec ate s**t. I've only had it for a month or so, but no compaints so far. Looks great, cables are easy to manage, power output is very stable. I love it. :)

I'd go for a Corsair if the prices are similar, they are actually some of the best powersupplies on the market from a performance perspective. I know Mothow has one of the Corsairs, and they are highly recommended by many in the enthusiast world. I have heard nothing but great things. Hiper is alright, but typically not regarded as a real top tier PSU.

The modular 520 is one awesome unit.People running SLI and crossfire systems with it.Older crossfire and SLI im sure but still.My 620 is sweet i love the modular cables.And the 520 is bacically the same PSU with less wattage.Its a great unit.

I owned a Hiper PSU before and it crapped out on me. Now I know it might've been a fluke and it was just a bad unit, but I'd recommend you to go with Corsair because I have been hearing nothing but good things about Corsair's PSUs.

Corsairs from what I've read are very good. But I notice they are priced to high IMO. I have a 700w OCZ GameXStream, it's very high quality form the moments you open it you feel it. And it's been working greats for the past 5 or 6 months I've had this build. They also merged with PC power & Cooling so you can be sure their psu's are top quality. and very good prices too.

OCZ 700w GameXStream -->$128.99

Corsair 520w-HX --> $124.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001

I just like higher wattage.

*Edit*
The good thing is that the Corsair one is modular, meaning you only need to connect the cables you're gonna use. The OCZ is not modular but the cables have a nice length and can bend easily if you need to store them tight inside your case.

I don't think its a good idea to purchase single rail PSUs these days. It's your money! :|

Why not? Multiple 12V rails was issued in ATX specification in order to reduce the risk of fire. When push comes to shove, a single rail designed to handle over 100 amps (an older Enermax Galaxy had this) is more efficient than four rails designed to handle 25 amps each. Also, under most circumstances, multiple rails does not equate to redundancy so the bottom line is, it really doesn't matter. Base PSU purchase on efficiency and rail amperage. The wattage they slap on the box is hardly scientific (usually).

I'd go with this, personally:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194035

MODU82+ are new and insanely efficient. It's a mere "5 watts" more than the Corsair "520 watt" PSU but nets 7 amps more per +12V rail (3 rails in each) resulting in 80w more power available without even breaking a sweat. Cheap manufacturers could get away marketing that Enermax 525w as a 1000w PSU.

Edit: It even has more +12V amperage than that 700w OCZ (72 vs 75)...
