From the HTC S620 (DASH) user manual:
This product should be operated in the suggested normal condition only
to ensure the radiative performance and safety of the interference. As with
other mobile radio transmitting equipment, users are advised that for
satisfactory operation of the equipment and for the safety of personnel, it
is recommended that no part of the human body be allowed to come too
close to the antenna during operation of the equipment.

WTF?!?

Ah, yes. The phone is supposed to magically levitate by your ear just because the manual says so. Yes, that's how it's supposed to work...and pigs are flying too...

Reminds me of the Apple OS X license agreement...
http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/macosxserver105.pdf
From page 3:
You also agree that you will not use these products for any purposes prohibited by United States law, including, without limitation, the development, design, manufacture or production of missiles, and nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.

Cracks me up every time. XD

So I guess that no member of the US Defense Department or any of thier contractors can legally use an Apple?

I love this type of stuff, from the EULAs on. Basically DON'T USE OUR PRODUCT!

Cracks me up too.

Department of Energy and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory come to mind especially. LLNL is tasked with running computer models on the degredation of the United State's nuclear stockpile. Last I heard, their supercomputers run some modified version of Linux/Unix which that "United States law" maybe doesn't apply to? One thing for certain: it's silly. XD

No, and I'm glad I didn't. :X Too dangerous. Looks like I'm free to design my weapons to take over the world. :)

From what I could search, I didn't find a "nuclear" in an MS EULA. All the EULA's are supposedly here but I can't get any of them (unknown errors):
http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/useterms/Default.aspx

If any of them had that nuclear, biochemical, etc. notice, it would probably be Vista.

That is just so....stupid. I can't believe tax dollars and computer purchasing dollars go to support such utter crap.

No sane person....NO sane person could possibly believe a terrorist would not check that box.

The only thing it will likely do, is if you forget to check it or don't see it and click "submit", you'll probably end up on a watch list of some sort...even if you go back and subsequently check the box. That's the way such things work. There are some 900,000 names already on the terror watch list*, and I bet some of them come from sources as completely worthless as that. And, once you're on them, it's incredibly difficult to get de-listed (assuming they'll even tell you you're on "the list" to begin with).

If you want more sources, just google [900,000 watch list]

Dell: Do you pinky swear not to use this computer to design weapons?

Evil Terrorist: Damn. ... *Evil Terrorist closes browser*

Being held at an undisclosed prison...our terrorist is finally being water-boarded for the key information....

"WHO ordered you to check that box on the Dell online order form? Give us a name!"

"blurghle...blub...glug..."

"Quit mumbling...Tell us who is the mastermind of this nefarious computer purchasing scheme. Give...Us...A...Name!"

"Farfur.....It...was...Farfur."

"Take him back to his cell...we've finally got our name."

:)

Thank goodness! That Dell check-box broke the back of terrorism around the world.

edit to add-
For those that don't know, Farfur was a really badly done seemingly psychotic Mickey Mouse-like character on a Middle Eastern kids show. Unfortunately, the show is reported to teach young kids hate and violence, and what to do as they grow up.

I just watched the Farfour YouTube video.
I am feeling physically sick.
That clip is just as bad as the Comic books distributed in Afghanistan by the CIA during the Carter Administration teaching the Afghani children how to fight the Russians.

No matter how legitimate the claims, these tactics re-enforce my lack of faith in the human race as a whole.
