Hello all.

Would anybody who has experience with a program to recover damaged outlook files please let me know? Mine is corrupted probably due to a powerfailure, and the program itself cannot recover from it. As of now, I do not have any access to teh data, messages, addresses.. so any help is apprecieated.

Thanks in advance. Take care all, Juan.

Juan,
You didn't mention the version of Outlook, or whether or not you where using the Business Contact Manager add in.
The BCM utilizes a separate SQL DB to track that information, so if you were using it, and are trying to re-import the pst, then try disabling/de-installing the BCM utility. This may permit for you to recover non-BCM entries. I also seem to recall that there are several PST recovery utilities out there, search for them and run them against COPIES of the pst. One or more may work for you.

Additionally, I seem to recall one recovery taking several hours. The process seems to be hung, but if you wait it out, It'll finaly come back.

BTW, I backup my PSTs weekly, including the archives.

I back mines upevery few weeks onto another backup drive. Located at:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

You can't manually access this from the C:Drive as the folder it's located in is hidden.

Gerritt,

You're right. I should have offered a bit more data.

I have Outlook 2003,no BCM, just plain Outlook. I will google some pst to try.

Thanks for the input, Juan.

I presume that you have tried importing 'from a store directory' which would be your original pst file, and getting it to overwrite all the existing folders/files.
If you have tried this and it doesn't work, try creating a new Outlook profile and importing the existing data into that new one.
