Need to have a rant!
I'm getting increasingly annoyed at irresponsible sellers of new systems that sell computers with less than optimum specifications for Vista operating systems.
Went to this brand new Acer notebook that this old guy had purchased yesterday.
Core 2 duo processor 2 GHz and 512 RAM with Vista Home basic. It was SO SLOW.
Firstly the core 2 duo processor is not fully functional with Vista Home basic (Only with Vista Business and above).
Second - 512 RAM is the Minimim, and at least 1GB RAM is required for optimum performance.
We had to wait an unacceptably long time for Windows mail, or Internet Explorer to open. The old Guy was clicking again and again thinking that things were not happening when they were - and of course the more he clicked the more the computer became less able to handle the first task that he had asked of it.
Had to sit beside him and say "Wait", "Wait", "Wait".
Yes - it will work, but to me it is irresponsible to sell a new system with specs like this.
